Yeah, 8 Deluxe is a way bigger game, but Wii is still a legendary Mario Kart title. Chaos is abound and rage is around with the based character roster, cool vehicles, and banger track selection. Unlocking everyone and everything for this game is insane, but it’s so damn satisfying seeing everything come together in the end

7:37 so basically, bikes can do wheelies (shake up), while karts can get orange sparks for longer drift boosts (a bit after blue sparks). However, some bikes (like the flane runner and mach bike) have an inside drift, and are used by most people.

The differences between bikes and karts are as follows: Bikes are skinnier, which gives them a smaller hitbox. Bikes also have less drifting ability, so you can only get a blue mini turbo on a bike as opposed to an orange one on a kart, which lasts a bit longer. Now these next two are the important ones, bikes can wheelie which increases their top speed quite a bit. To wheelie flick the wiimote up or press up on the d pad on an actual controller. The other big one is inside drift. Inside drift is the best part of MKWII imo. Only 9 out of the 36 vehicles in the game have it and they are all bikes. Inside drift is a different style of drifting that is much, MUCH better than outside drift. It lets you take corners way faster and saves usually at least ten seconds per race. Inside drift combined with wheelies make bikes the superior vehicles in this game. The 9 bikes that have inside drift are as follows: the flame runner and the spear for heavyweights, the mach bike, the dolphin dasher, and the sneakster for middleweights, and the bullet bike, jet bubble, magikruser, and quacker for lightweights. Funky Kong in the flame runner is the best character-vehicle combination in the game. Inside drift combined with wheelies almost make karts entirely obsolete in this game and if you play this again, you all should pick an inside drifting bike as opposed to the shitty vehicles you picked this time. (except for Tom, he’s doing fine)

About the bikes, there's two different kinds of bikes. There's inside drift and outside drift. Inside drift allows your bike to take tighter turns while outside drift takes wider ones. I'd highly reccomend inside drift, it can be a bit tricky to get the hang of at first, but it will definetly come in handy for some of the harder tracks in the game.

Bikes are way better because they drift better (good players never turn normally, they always drift to turn) and they let you wheelie. Cars only advantage is that they let you get orange mini-turbo's but bikes are still just so much better.
