Since 1967 when I was 10 years old I have passionately studied and followed the great tenors of classical singing and opera. Being born and raised in South Africa I never had the opportunity personally to have any personal experiences in the careers of the great tenors during my life time. I am always in awe of SCICOFF 1 whose life experiences with the great tenors of his day are so fascinating and super informing. I have learned so much from all the personal things you have shared here SCICOFF 1 as well as all the accurate information always provided too! It is sad that anyone would criticize you for all the facts, personal experiences and knowledge which you have shared with us here so abundantly on you tube. I can only imagine what a joy it would be to sit down with you in conversation and glean from all you know and have experienced over the years. I want to thank you kindly for making the effort to share all you have here on you tube over the years. I believe I speak for others too when I say thanks to you and God bless you!

Well I was all set for another disaster, hysterical sobbing, straining at full volume, almost understandable this is a fully charged very emotional scene but surprise, Lanza delivers a very well sung, controlled, well acted performance. Showing real sensitivity for the mother and a real understanding of the music and the scene. Ranks up there with his 'Guardian Angels' and 'I'll Be Seeing You' More than a few well known operatic tenors could take a page from Mario's book here.

***** Edmund Purdom also makes a very good visual part !!! The success of "Student Prince" was not visually, to assign a only M.Lanzas fantastic voice. 42 weeks number 1 in the charts, unbeaten until 10/26/2014 (No one has done by the great classical artists, not three tenors still softies, like Andrea Bocelli or Paul Potts, Russell Watson, etc. On phonograms helps no vision, there only helps voice.
