Yes, this is true. However, I was not able to find any visual evidence (screenshots, recordings) of it actually being said, so I cut it from the video.

So maybe the “awkward date” part with daisy and waluigi means that they actually dated a long time ago and Mario saving daisy in one of the games made her meet luigi and she started dating luigi and waluigi hated luigi ever since. And I saw an old comic of wario and Mario when they were younger and Mario thought they were friends but wario looked at Mario as his bully because he always did some tricks to him which eventually made wario despise him and pray on his downfall, which is why it hints to them having a past before. Just some ideas !

Hear me out. Mario is stated in a previous video to be "homo nintendonus". We can assume the same of Luigi, Wario, Peach and Daisy. In this species, it is clear that the men are much shorter than the women which is the opposite of homo sapiens. Then there's Waluigi being taller than all the established homo nintendonus and homo sapien characters. Here's my theory: Waluigi is a trans man. We never see him as a baby in any of the games so it is entirely possible that he is trans. Either that or he's deformed. Maybe both.

In terms of the canon, Mario and co. are simply just humans. I found out after making that video that the homo nintendonus thing isn’t canon and actually isn’t mentioned anywhere else other than that character guide. Cool theory, though! It makes sense and is an interesting observation.

Don‘t forget Pauline, E Gadd and Rosalina who neatly fit this logic. Then there’s Wario, he’s just huge and round, sometimes taller than even the girls, sometimes inbetween the boys and girls. Hard to say what’s up with him

Sean really been busy. Cool to see. All are great characters to learn more on. Daisy in particular I think is underrated in the potential Sarasaland has for lore if we ever got to see it more. And I also genuinely think Rosalina being Peach's great great great great great great great etc Aunt is just straight up canon, but of course we'll never get any set in stone word unless Koizumi just drops it in an interview 15 years from now or something, like Miyamoto confirming the "Mario Bros 3 is a play" thing
