I wish I could go back to the day of the June Direct. I was at work, and didn't know whether to seriously expect something or give it a miss. I go on my break, look at my phone and see a thumbnail pic of Mario and Luigi hi-fiving. My heart nearly stopped as I saw it looked like the Mario & Luigi artstyle only with 3D models. The video's title was "NEW MARIO & LUIGI?!" I looked up more info and reacted like my team just won the Super Bowl. Watching reactions to the Brothership trailer is genuinely satisfying. It's moving to see Mario and Luigi be welcomed back with open arms.

Ive always been a fan of mario and luigi games!!! With my first mario rpg being the gba one, i absolutley loved it, and cant wait for this game and hopefully the next ones to come!!!!!

@AndresRestart It's great to know that you're giving the Mario & Luigi series a shot with Brothership, but I'll just say that you've been missing out on the rest of the series. I'd highly reccomend playing Superstar Saga before Brothership to familiarize yourself with the series, and also just because it's a great game; it's already on GameBoy Advance NSO and only takes around 20 hours to beat, so it wouldn't be out of your way. It's up to you of course, but seriously, the first four M&L games in particular, despite being on weaker hardware and relatively short, offer so much of the creativity and originality that fans have been begging for from the modern Paper Mario games. I think you'd really enjoy them if you ever decide to play them.

I absolutely love the M&L series. I was devastated when I found out AlphaDream was shut down, and thought the series was dead. I always hoped I’d be able to play a game in this series on the big screen, and when I found out that the series wasn’t dead and now would be playable on TV, it saved that tiny part of my gamer soul lol. Very happy for this, can’t wait to play it.

I'm excited for Brothership, but I think sales could've been monstrous if it was released way earlier in the Switch's life. Not saying they'll be bad or anything, but Switch hype is pretty much at its lowest point as everyone is anticipating Switch 2. It's why I really hope Metroid Prime 2 is also a Switch 2 launch title (doubtful), as I don't think its Switch 1 sales will be anywhere near where they could've been a couple years ago

The Thousand Year Door unfortunately sold noticeably less than the two previous Mario RPG games on Switch. There could be some fatigue setting in which doesn't bode too well for M&L

It sold 1.76 Million in about 5 weeks. Thats very good. Mario RPG came out in November for the holidays. If after the holidays it still hasn’t caught up to Mario RPG then I would agree. I think its making great pace right now though.

I think it is a little bit of a mis-step to release 3 Mario RPGs within the span of 1 year. I think it would have been a little better to spread them out a little longer to avoid people getting fatigued. That being said, Brothership is the one I'm most excited to play because its a new game. I admittedly picked up The SMRPG remake but not the Thousand Year Door remake and that mainly comes down to lack of time to play it, its price, and the fact that I've already played TTYD (whereas I hadn't played SMRPG before). I might pick up the TTYD remake if I see it on sale down the line but rn I'd rather wait for Brothership

As long Mario & Luigi: Brothership plays more like the first 3 games in the series (Superstar Saga, Brothers in Time, and Bowser's Inside Story) as well as having kick-ass gameplay and story and load of unique characters and funny scenarios, I would be more than happy and then we can declare that we're currently in Mario RPG's 2nd Golden Era. Can't wait, will have to replay those classic games beforehand.
