Mario Odyssey but if My Clone Touches Me, I Die.

I played through Super Mario Odyssey while copies of myself would follow, repeating my exact movement. If they catch up to me and touch me I instantly die, can I still beat the game?

@@richardpike8748 Amethyst definitely got it from galaxy, and past that, I think the idea of running away from your own inputs is a pretty intuitive one, but SMG came out before Celeste I believe, so if one copied the other, it was Celeste.

Can the clones die? In the final bowser fight, I observed the clones taking fire damage. This made me think... if you burn yourself twice, grab a heart, and get burned again, would they die, grab the heart, or am I just thinking too hard and it's just an animation?

(Probably bad) idea: Instead of shadow mario clones, use the same logic as the hide and seek mod - i.e. get some players to chase you and see how long it takes to beat the game with the likes of smant constantly on your tail. Issue is I don't know if that would be easier or harder than this mod. On one hand players are less predictable than these clones. On the other, they're more likely to make mistakes and just let you get progress without putting up much resistance in certain occasions. Also you probably don't want to waste a session with your friends on this when you could be doing something else. IDK though, maybe you would find it fun to do once?
