Mario Odyssey Manhunt Vs. World Record Speedrunner

I challenged @Tyron18, a World Record Mario Odyssey Speedrunner to a Mario Odyssey Manhunt. I win if I beat the game, but he wins if I die at any point. Will I be able to finish the game, or is Tyron able to stop me?

if you dont get it, after beating harriet, the pyramind moves up like 500 meters, tyrone had late game so the pyramind for him was high, and fir was still fighting harriet so the pyramind wasnt raised

At this point, I'm pretty sure the double broodal fight in Bowser's is physically impossible to win as the runner in Odyssey Manhunt. (Unless someone has done it and I'm not aware of it)

A suggestion to the mod maker. Give the runner invincibility frames after every cutsceen. That way cutsceen camping is not as stupid.

i've seen a few manhunt runs and it always ends at the double boss in bowser's kingdom. some special health pickups or something like that around that area could be added to make it fairer, but i guess saving the checkpoint heal also works.

I think checkpoint heal between fights is mandatory for a chance at winning, and should be something the chased person have to plan for. But it sounds to me like the real problem is that the chaser can warp/respawn at that checkpoint also, making them return too fast. Just removing it from the chasers "world" could maybe improve it.

I feel like to stand any chance at the mandatory broodal bowser kingdom fights the runner would have to have enough health to do the first, then get the lifeup heart and do the second... one of these days someone will conqueror it

Yeah you'd need to carry shop heart to the fight, clear one, run back and grab the statue heart, then clear the other.

A much more effective way of doing the manhunt would actually be to change the goal: one player is trying to beat the game as quickly as possible, while the other is simply trying to stop them from winning for as long as possible. This would make going back for life up hearts and standoffs horrible for the runner, but also give them as many tries as they need to get past the Broodals in BK.
