I think that's because this, and Galaxy, borrow a lot of harmonic language from the Star Trek soundtracks, particularly by James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith... with a little of the Star Wars vibe thrown in for good measure. But it just oozes 80s/90s orchestral sci-fi movie soundtrack.
