Funny thing is, if they got rid of the bullet bills and instead gave you JUST enough time to reach the goal with maybe 2 or 3 seconds to spare, the level would play exactly the same. Which is a tactic they've done for some levels. Like the ones in 3DWorld where you get 30 seconds and have to keep hrabbing +10 second power ups. And sure a barrage of bullet bills is scary. But time is even more scary than that. Example, the Gamecube is older now than the NES was when the Gamecube was released. Gamecube was released in 2001, 23 years ago (almost a quarter century) but the NES was released in 1985, just 16 years before the Gamecube. Also, next year, 2025, the first home release of a Pong console turns 50. But the first "game" console for home was the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972, but I wouldn't call that a game. It was literally just a white block you could move around the screen. That's it. No ball, no score, no counting, just a square you move around the screen. But I bet it was like witchcraft in 1972.

world 9? nah this is the EXTRA secret world 10 that nobody mentions, you can only unlock it by getting 100% game completion 10 times in a row without a single slip up, you'll start noticing differences around the 8th time, and then the 9th time the levels completely change and the final time a king bill will fly over head in each level somewhere at some point as foreshadowing of what's to come, upon gathering the final star coins and getting the notification that you've done everything the game has to offer for the 10th time that notification will immediately close out and a new one will come in it's place saying "just kidding!" and world 10 will appear on the map selection screen, and will be the only selectable map, this is a "no turning back" situation, you can unlock all the other maps again by defeating a secret final boss, however no one has ever made it to this secret final boss as the castle leading to it is impossible even for a tas to get through, and all 3 save files get corrupt to automatically load world 10 even after erasing and starting a new one, legends say upon defeating the true final boss world 10 will explode and all 9 levels from there will fall to each other world with a brand new challenge in each one, in destroyed and corrupt versions of the original first levels of each world
