Mario Strikers: Battle League Predictions (Characters & Fields/Stadiums)

A quick predictions and ideas video on the upcoming Mario Strikers: Battle League. I go over the possible characters and fields + a few other little things.

Daisy's stage kinda just writes itself... Sarasaland. You can reference all 4 kingdoms are you can just stick to the most well known Birabuto (the sand one) I think minimum we get 16 Characters, being Daisy, Birdo, Bowser Jr, Diddy, Petey, and Pauline. I'm personally in the camp of 20 Characters, so I'm gonna have some fun and choose Dixie Kong, Kamek, Captain Syrup, and K Rool. Yes I'm aware the only realistic one in those 4 is Kamek, however I want more out there choices for Characters

Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure Daisy’s stage will just be some random flower stuff. Nintendo rarely ever directly reference anything from Sarasaland. The only thing remaining from Mario Land really is Daisy, which I’m sure Nintendo would do away with since they have Rosalina now. This game will be successful so I’m hoping that we get the monthly updates for a year like tennis got!

I think if Kritters were in it at all, K Rool would be a somewhat sensible choice. I think Koopa Troopa is absolutely making it in, I would've picked him over Toad even if he wasn't confirmed already. I don't remember a mario game where koopa wasn't present kn the slightest

2:25 My theory is that since both Mario party and strikers where being developed while Nintendo was planning to tweak daisy's skin tone to be slightly darker and didn't want to end up in a Mario golf situation. in that game daisy's skin tone is the same as peach but slightly less pale in-game.

We wouldn’t have this issue if Nintendo did white wash Daisy back in the early 2000s. However, it does make sense because of the history with Mario Party and the random jump to bring back the tan skin.

If Rosalina can play Strikers, so can Pauline IMO. I was worried Rosalina would never get in to a series like this, but we’ve been proven wrong, so we could 100% be proven wrong again

I think toadette and daisy are locks. I adamantly feel like Kamek will also be a character though. Especially because of his important role in the mario movie.

Only thing I don't really agree with is Pauline not fitting in being a reason against her inclusion, since Rosalina isn't exactly known for having a violent nature that would fit in with the Mario Strikers games, and she still got in.

Also, I feel like the easy answer for a half field environment for Waluigi would be something arcade-like, since his only really well known location associated with him is Waluigi Pinball.

Waluigi is definitely getting a casino style stage going off of previous stages based off him in other Mario spinoff games. It might end up a fan favorite.

While cool having the idea for Diddy’s part of his stadium to be a cave themed I think that’ll likely go to either Toad or Toadette due to Captain Toad, I think the best choice is for Diddy’s to be a treetop setting as DK’s is on the jungle floor, Diddy’s could be high in the trees

I just want Daisy, Bowser Jr Birdo Diddy and Toadette in. Koopa, Monty, Shy Guy, Hammer Bro and Boo would be nice to have back as well but if I’m picking just 15 I’d rather have the 5 in the first sentence. If I could pick any one for a newcomer it’s not King K Rool even though he’s cool. It’d be GOOOMBA! The dude literally doesn’t have arms so he’s perfect for soccer. Plus come on how funny would a Goomba hyper strike be

I think saying pauline wouldn’t fit doesn’t make sense when peach and toad are both in the game and neither of them fit either. Instead of Koopa Troopa in that late slot I’m way more inclined to believe they’ll put toadette in for her strikers debut or pauline just cause this game doesn’t seem to be using the generic enemy characters as characters like in golf or tennis, if they do dlc I see that being a lot more likely

This is more like the ideas I was hoping for. Trophies and cup battles: vast and lovely like in the 1st game. The Cup Battles should have normal and super cup battles like in the first game. And the trophies should get bigger shinier and with lovelier detail in the higher difficulties. Captains: Have them be better than all the sidekicks and have their own special abilities super strike and mega strike. Like maybe the super strike of a captain be like a fully charged shot of a sidekick. Examples like Mario's being a fireball that burns and stuns the goalie leaving an opening for a goal for Mario or a teammate. And for Luigi maybe the same but with green fire. They could do like a 2 or 3 point score like in the first game. Keeping the megastrikes the same though. But with different ways to block em that arent motion controlled Sidekicks: vast and customizeable like Charged but none being OP. As well as adding in more sidekicks like Magikoopas Chargin chucks and bloopers items: Same as in the 1st game. Courses: More like the 1st game's courses with limited hazards Losing animations: Some captains having animations where they attack enemy players like Bowser grabbing an enemy player and breathing fire at their face and Wario sitting on an opponent and farting on them. Inspired by Petey eating an opponent in Charged. Other customizations: outfit colors and details. Also keep the charged armor and ball Most of all, make it balanced and fair and depending on player skill. Another thing. Use more of that cool sketchy art style from the gamecube game's cover art.

i wouldn’t count her out. she was dlc for super golf and plays a good part in party so i think she can make it.

I think stages will just have characters "grouped" under their spectrum. Like peach and toad (and Daisy?) or Mario and Toad have the same stage, or Bowser and BJr, DK and Diddy have the same. Having a stage for every character sounds like too much workload put there instead of making more characters, which would be a shame since you have to pick 8 of them to play and the rotations would get stale really fast.

You're probably right. Although they're only half stages so hopefully they're a little easier to make? But yeah, I would rather have more characters if it meant we have less fields. Then again, if we're going to have a small roster of characters, they might as well make up for it with the ample themed fields. I guess it really depends, we'll have to just wait and see.

@@WumbleWasp I was just thinking with the objective of having more characters and different gimmicky stages. Developing and building a stage background for every single character wouldn't be that easy imo, also considering that some characters don't have established personalities, like for example old sidekicks if they were to be promoted to captains. Also I truly hope the backgrounds aren't all we get for stages but we have also different terrains and other gimmicks.

Someone managed to guess the stats of the eight characters whose stats were shown, and each character without the gear conform to one of the types from Charged (if with more stat variety than before so that there are further differences within the types as well): Balanced: Mario, Luigi Playmaker: Peach, Toad Defensive: Waluigi Offensive: Yoshi, Wario Power: Bowser Assuming Rosalina and Donkey Kong are Defensive and Power respectively, you get one pair of characters for every type represented in the currently shown roster. Five unlockable characters who each correspond to one of these types for a total of three characters per type wouldn't be surprising.

I think that what Nintendo is going to do, is that they probably showed us an early version of the game, even that gameplay could have been recorded some months ago for the direct, and what I think is that 2 or 1 months left for the release of the game they are going to do a mario strikers direct showing everything, all the modes of the game, characters and fields, or maybe they just release like a 6 minutes trailer

I just hope Dixie kong makes it in. I’m only getting it if it has DK characters. And maybe even super Mario odyssey, Luigi mansion, and maybe wario characters. But without dk characters I’m not getting it, it could either be a hit like sluggers or a miss

Dixie has never been in a Mario spin-off game (at least recently), so it really wouldn’t make sense for Nintendo to add her before all the other Mario characters in line like Kamek or even Nabbit etc.

Saying Toad becoming a main character and main characters replacing side characters are both bad things and also saying it has anything to do with paper Mario and new super Mario Bros makes absolutely no sense, the games not more plain in any way and making the stadiums more Mario in a Mario game makes sense...

These five are most likely except for burdo I would say shy guy bc he has a model as a npc in the stands. And some of the ones in the stands are playable like toad and Yoshi. I hoes rly think there will be six total I think bc Roselina is a new pc on this we will get one more and I think that’ll be Pauline, king boo OR egadd bc next level are the devs to liigmcanison 3 and then another 3-4 added later

my team: daisy the captain with dk wario and waluigi, and my headcanon is daisy totally plays and distroys for the win while waluigi is head over heals for her (she ignoring and not noticing) and wario be like the meanstar he is trying everything to manipulate the enemy team to cheat the game without daisy noticing... and dk just there being like picking up both wario and waluigi on the neck like kittens everytime they do shit just to keep them in check while he just wants to have fun playing soccer

Not a fan of the maps Not a fan of the multiple captains and the removal of the sidekicks. Not a fan of gear system! My Expectation are very low Also gameplay looks like a DS game. Hopefully im wrong. But to me it looks like they ruined one of my favourite game ever created!
