Just a fun Fact. it's super important when Zeratul says "My Life for Aiur" This is because Zeratul and his tribe of protoss (the dark templars) were exiled from Aiur ages ago for severing their nerve chords to essentially embrace the void, this was seen as macabre(they inhabit the world Shakuras). So in Zeratul's final moments he utters a saying typically said by Protoss who call Aiur home,(my life for Aiur) this signifies he is willing to sacrifice everything for Artanis' people and Aiur. Obviously there is a lot of detail left out here, but i wanted to try sum it up as simply as possible.

@@VikingHaag there is too much lore to be compressed down to a movie, the Warcraft movie is an example of this. It would be better to do it as a series, focusing on one race's campaign a season. But I've given up on Blizzard making smart decisions with their IPs and business at this point.

It's also important to note that in the original StarCraft, Zeratul was the first to kill an Overmind Cerebrate. In doing so, his mind briefly linked with the Overmind's and the Overmind learned where Aiur was. That's what Selendis was referring to when she said "it was his intervention that brought ruin to Aiur." Zeratul has spent the rest of his life trying to atone for his role in (unintentionally) leading the Zerg to Aiur.

@@djdomain Much agreed. A lot of sci-fi / war movies would have been better as a series. (I know I'm preaching to the choir) but I've always maintained that 2-3 hour movies are only good for individual battles that lasted 48-72 hours.When it comes to a protracted war spanning years or decades however, I can't see a way that it wouldn't feel rushed. The problem with this is that many fans would wish to see it on the big screen, IMAX or whatever; where series tend to skip the box office.

@@VikingHaag "Blizzard could stand to make bank if they just made 3-4 movies." The Starcraft fan in me wishes this was a true statement. If the U.S. and European markets had the fanbase percentage and demand as say..South Korea does, there would be no doubt. I decided to do a quick search to get an idea of the numbers, as in the last 20 years, I only met a handful of people that knew anything about the entire franchise. newzoo.com/insights/articles/march-insights-from-newzoo-pc-game-tracker-starcraft-rises-with-20-year-anniversary/ So I quote: "StarCraft II was played by 2.6% of core PC gamers in North America in March (2018), with 17.7% of core RTS gamers playing the title." -- What's unknown to me is how much of North America's total population this 2.6% makes up...as not everyone in the states plays video games as a pastime. -- So my point being, Starcraft more or less has a cult following, when compared to franchises like (and I hate to say it) Star Wars or Star Trek, where I don't know anyone that hasn't at least 'heard' of those two. Even with the right producer and director that are more interested in storytelling than profiteering or cashing in....the budget needed to make Starcraft look great rather than cheap, would be greatly outweigh whatever money it would make. Even if the storyline, acting and cinematography is considered fantastic by even the most critical SC fans, the majority of Hollywood would still consider it a 'flop', because they can't see past the f*cking money when it comes to success and failure. :/ Would be nice if there was a devout Starcraft fan that was a billionaire who'd fully fund it without a care if it loses money as long as the final product did the franchise justice.

I feel like I need to explain how Zeratul "betrayed" the Protoss as you seemed confused in the early on clips. In StarCraft 1, anytime a Zerg cerebrate (Zerg commander) was killed, they would be reborn. Zeratul and the Dark Templar learned how to kill the Zerg cerebrates permanently. However, when Zeratul began killing the cerebrates, his mind and the hivemind of the Zerg unwittingly intertwined. This caused the Zerg to learn the location of the Protoss homeworld of Auir. If Zeratul never killed the cerebrates, the Zerg would never have known the location of Auir. However, if he never killed the cerebrates, the Protoss could never truly defeat the Zerg either. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Zeratul never betrayed the Protoss, but his actions lead the Zerg learning the location of the Protoss homeworld and eventually the exile of the Protoss from their homeworld.

Fun fact about the game. Life growing back on barren worlds was done by Overqueen Zagara by using the parting gift Kerrigan left behind for her, as a diplomatic gesture of peace for the Terrans and Protoss struggling to recover from the war (food supply was dangerously low due to ravaged worlds). However they still came close to breaking into another war with each other despite Zagara's efforts because of the Protoss' arrogance (Artanis was still feeling bitter that it was a Zerg that ascended first as a Xel'Naga, not a Protoss).

Oh man so much of the story is missing in just the cutscenes. There are dozens of interactions on the ship that you miss if just viewed this way.for instance Cybros the ark ship of the purifiers is super good and that moment “commencing purification” was astounding right before the cutscene. Also the “Alone” cinematic was extremely emotionally charged if you know what dark Templar was. So much lore lost when only seeing the cutscenes. This was my favorite expansion but it was meant to be played through to get the depth of the characters and events

Protoss => Firstborn of the Gods (as in created first by the Xel'Naga). The protoss are basically 2 people, the Nerazim (dark Templar) and the Khalai (Templar), their main difference being that the Nerazim rejected the Khala long ago (which is basically like a religion, a psionic connection amonst all Khalai) and are therefore immune against Amon's corruption through it. The Nerazim were also banished from Aiur by the Khalai, yet they did not become real enemies in the end. Now Artanis and his movement founded the "Daelaam" which is basically just the idea to unite all protoss, no matter what they believe in, and retake their homeworld Aiur for ALL protoss (there are actually 4 protoss people, Nerazim, Khalai, Purifier and Tal'daarim). With that information certain events become more important, Artanis saying he became Dark Templar in one of the cutscene its basically like paying respects for the ways of the Nerazim and for their struggle while also seeing their wisdom and power. He becomes a "true Daelaam" by living what he preaches, raised as Khalai and then becomimg Nerazim with Zeratul (dark templar) as one of his best friends. He also starts wearing Zeratul's green blade in addition to his own blue one. Blue represents the Khalai, green the Nerazim, so even his choice of weapons represent the idea of unity. Also Artanis eventually decides to get rid off the caste system that served as a divider or hierarchy and simply declares all protoss templar no matter what caste they are, which again show he believes in the idea of unity (and therefore equality). When Zeratul says "My life for Aiur" in his final moments it is also quite important. For one he is partly to blame for the fall of Aiur and secondly he is nerazim (dark templar) While the nerazim consider Aiur their homeworld too, it is still quite impressive that they accepted their exile and yet find the forgiveness to come back and help with the reclamation of Aiur, true believers in the right cause if u will. He sacrifices his life for the greater good, to 1. redeem himself from the mistakes he made when Aiur fell and 2. because he believes in the greater cause that is represented by Artanis. The phrase "my life for Aiur" is only ever used by the Khalai (templar), it has been a voice comment by many protoss units throughout all the games, all of them being Khalai (templar) but now we hear it from a nerazim (dark templar). Another example of their now shared fate and dedication. And by the way when they use the term "en taro" it simply translates to something like "in honor of". The protoss have the custom to honor their dead heroes by integrating them in their everyday speech, they would say "Adun hide you" (Adun was a great hero for the Nerazim) or they would say "En Taro Tassadar" (Tassadar being the one who sacrificed himself to destroy the Zerg Overmind) and later on of course "En Taro Zeratul" (because he died so all Protoss can be free). Them saying "En Taro Artanis" is basically the ultimate message of respect since they honor him as much as their dead heroes. Also by the way, the showing up of Alarak (of the Teldaarim) might come as a suprise for someone who only watched the cutscenes, but the Taldaarim are a enemy to all over the course of all 3 games, you fight them with the Terrans very early on in Wings of Liberty for example. The Tal'Darim are sworn to serve Amon and his cause, therefore they are hostile to anyone (terran, zerg, protoss) and you have to face them several times throughout the games. Amon made them the promise to make them all Xel-Naga or something greater, but that obviously was a lie. Alarak saw through this and decided to interfere, changing the faith of his people and bringing them to the cause of liberating Aiur and defeating Amon, eventually joining the Daelaam (unity of all protoss). Last by the way, many players interpreted the ending (kerrigan visiting Raynor at the bar) as a vision of a drunk and depressed Raynor and that he actually killed himself and thats why nobody saw him again. Him seeing Kerrigan as his last image in his head before he died. But I personally dont believe that, gotta have a happy ending :X

Does Amon have a real form? This is also a complicated answer. In short: Amon is a Xel'naga. They are born outside of what we would call space-time, and if their physical form is killed in our Universe, their spirit returns to the place of their birth. Amon died in our universe, but his spirit remains in the Void outside it, and during the last game he is resurrected within the physical world.

So a bit of background on Alarak and the Tal'Darim since a lot of their culture is explained outside of the cinematics: The Tal'Darim (Protoss for "The Forged") are basically a cult of Protoss who worship Amon. Amon promised them glory and that the most worthy among them would ascend into his own version of Xe'Naga (the Hybrid that are often mentioned, which themselves are an unnatural union of Zerg and Protoss). This promise has influenced everything about their culture and so they live in a state of survival of the fittest. This is best shown in their leadership which is known as The Chain of Ascension. Every Tal'Darim is a link in The Chain and is subservient to all those who are above them in The Chain. Alarak introduces himself as the First Ascendant of the Tal'Darim which means he is one link below the Highlord (the absolute leader of the Tal'Darim). To make sure that only the strongest and most cunning are at the top of The Chain, any Tal'Darim may challenge those above them in the Chain by invoking the Rite of Rak'Shir. When Rak'Shir is invoked, a battle between the challenger and the challenged is called. None but the combatants may directly interfere, however each side can call any allies they have to lend their strength to whichever side they are rooting for. This ends with one of the combatants victorious and the other is either shamed or dead, usually dead. Due to the lethal nature of Rak'Shir, most Tal'Darim obey orders given to them by those above them in the Chain with only the most ambitious among them invoking Rak'Shir. There's a mission in Legacy of the Void where Alarak invokes Rak'Shir against the Highlord and after winning, he commands the whole of the Tal'Darim. Alarak's main motivation is that he has learned the truth about Amon and that his promise to the Tal'Darim was a lie. Amon only ever saw them as puppets and never intended to allow them to ascend. Alarak then decides Amon must pay for his betrayal and so he sides with Artanis and the other Protoss seeking only to use them against Amon, but over time he realizes they aren't as weak as he believed them to be and actually grows to respect Artanis and the Templar.

The Khala is not only the link of living Protoss' thoughts and emotions, but also their version of the afterlife. Just as Jedi who die join with the Force, Protoss join with the Khala. Dark Templar who die are believed to go to the Void instead; not sure about the Tal'Darim but it makes sense for them to go be close to their god. So by separating themselves from the Khala, they are not only cutting their link to every other Khalai Protoss and amputating themselves, they are also excommunicating themselves in a way as well as locking the doors to the afterlife from the outside.

You're missing some important bits of the story because they are revealed during missions, but essential as the invasion of Auir was underway Amon revealed himself to the Protoss and corrupted the Khala, gaining control of all Protoss connected to it. Once a Protoss has joined a the Khala, they can only be removed from the link by severing their nerve cords. Dark Templar, fearing and disdaining the Khala, already do this ritualistically as part of their societies, so initially only Dark Templar escape Amon's control.

Ganna add answers as I watch: Does Kerrigan control the entire Zerg Swarm? It's complicated, but essentially between the death of the Overmind, Kerrigan's rule as the Queen of Blades, and her rebirth as the Primal Queen of Blades, the swarm fragments several times. As a result, feral Zerg are all over the place. Furthermore, during her first reign, Kerrigan added new breeds to the Swarm who were independently intelligent, so there are some Zerg Broods which are not feral, but not under Kerrigan's control either.
@michaellahanas2038
@michaellahanas2038 4 жыл бұрын
@Manuel Sacha correct! However, since these Primal Zerg were never part of the Hivemind created by Amon, they are something of a different example. What's really interesting is the Primal Zerg of Zerus quick adapted copies of the Hivemind's Zergs' strains through their typical essence absorbing processes. It is unclear if these Primal versions of the Hivemind Zerg are individualistic like other Primal Zerg, or something else entirely.
@B.Scruby
@B.Scruby 4 жыл бұрын
@@michaellahanas2038 It's unclear, true, but i think it's unlikely. It seems they only copy traits that help them survive and be better hunters in order to accumulate more essence. The Primals hold individual strength over everything else, they hold it in a higher regard than their pack heirarchy, as the role of leader can always be usurped so long as the usurper is stronger than the current leader. But i do wonder why Dehaka doesn't get essence from Swam Zerg but instead take essence everywhere else. Zurvan was willing to battle Kerrigan for her essence but i don't think he would have adapted any physical traits from her, had he been successful, as they wouldn't have helped him survive since he was already the highest in Zerus' strength pyramid and had no interest in going to space. The Hydralisk and Mutalisk in particular were the ones that were copied by the Zerus Zerg as Abathur points out during Heart of the Swarm. Both the Hydralisk (Slotiens) and Mutalisk (Mantis Screamer) source creatures were not natives of Zerus. But these two strains were the most efficient hunters in the swarm being of decent size, the most mobile, and can use ranged attacks. So i guess they were the ones that were most coveted by the Primals. Edit: My bad, Zurvan did say that if he took Kerrigan's essence, it would have been his first evolution in a millenia. So i guess he would have physically changed too, he may even accumulate the ability control over the Swarm to help him feed.

I don't know if it's mentioned down below in any of the comments, but Rohana, the female Protoss who was a Preserver, the one who kept getting possessed by Amon and goes all red with dark power, is a special one for the Protoss People. As a Preserver, she literally holds all the collective memories of her people going back to when they first embraced the Khala. Every Protoss who died with their nerve cords on transferred their memories to her automatically. She is their cultural history collected into a single being. Imagine having the entire collective memory of every human who'd ever lived and died. That is what she has to contend with. And when she holds onto tradition, that's basically her job. Holding onto what has worked for her people for their whole history. She is the conservative voice of reason, and her objecting to all these new things is going to be annoying, but she represents the inability to let go of the past. When she cuts her Nerve Cords, she is cutting off basically everything that made her...her.

"But they could not shatter... our unity!" So dope X) I like how starcraft made its mechanics diagetic (they take place in the world of the game). it's an RTS so the player controls all of the little units. But the game explains how this makes sense in the world of the game. For terrans (the humans) we have leaders who radio orders to the people on the ground. For zerg they have a hivemind, whoever controls them is controlling the whole swarm simultaneously in their mind. And for the protoss they have the Khala, the telepathic linking of all protoss. Diagetic mechanics are just so much cooler

There's this dark theory about the ending. Basically, Raynor died there in that bar, heart attack or whatever, and Kerrigan comes to reclaim his soul to the afterlife. And this last vision of her - she gave it to him to smoothen the transition.

there is a few zerg(swarm) factions for those wondering the 2 main ones kerrigans and amons both controlled through hive mind like connection,then there is feral zerg who only hunt for food and are not controled in any way this is more showed in primal zerg,but also there is normal zerg left to after the overmind died
@B.Scruby
@B.Scruby 4 жыл бұрын
Not all the Zerg are controlled by Kerrigan. Before the events of SC2, the entire Swarm (including Kerrigan) was under the command of the Overmind. The Overmind created a chain of control by creating the Cerebrates. Cerebrates were basically intelligent and independent and oversaw the actions of the entire Swarm in accordance to the will of the Overmind. When a Cerebrate dies, the brood under its control would go rampage and attack fellow zerg, which prompted the Swam to destroy that brood, thus creating the events of the Broodwars (because of the permanent death of the Overmind and some of his Cerebrates in the hands of Tassadar and the Dark Templar during SC1). So alot of zerg hives were severed from the chain of control. Kerrigan in SC2 re-exerts control over the majority of the swarm by using the Broodmother Strain of the Queen (flying unit). But unlike the Queen (flying) which is easily controllable, the Broodmother Strain tended to be highly intelligent (capabale of speech) and very independent. This is evident with Zagara and other Broodmothers who opposed Kerrigan during the events of Heart of the Swarm. So there are still untouched broods out there that are controlled by Broodmothers, that either haven't been re-assimilated to the Swarm or have been left without any current control (like what happened to Niadra, whose final directive after being left alone by Kerrigan was to "kill all the Protoss"). The Zerg will always act upon its last order. Which in the case for the Zerg in Aiur, their last order was to invade the planet and to hunt and kill the Protoss. I don't think the Zerg in Aiur have ever been reclaimed by Kerrigan since they're still there and Kerrigan didn't return to Aiur during any of the events in SC2. Otherwise, those Zerg in Aiur would have left if given a new order.

The swarm is also controlled by different "Brood mothers", this what started the so called "Brood wars" because brood mothers wanted to take over the full strength of the zerg swarm. But in the legacy of the void its also amon. Main characters btw: Wings of liberty arc: Jim Raynor and Tychus Heart of the swarm: Jim Raynor and Kerrigan Legacy of the void: Artanis Factions: Raynors raiders = Rebels controlled by raynor, home planet, on the hyperion, has no fixed planet. Dominion terran = By Emperor mensk but now on Prince valerian, home planet, korhal Xel naga = Ancient ones. Home planet the void. Mobious corps = Hybrids, protoss and zerg home planet unknown Alarak's protoss = Protoss controlled by alarak, home planet unknown Kerrigan's swarm = By loyal brood mothers and by zagara, and ofc kerrigan, home planet char Rival swarms = By rival brood mothers (None)

Zeratul told Raynor to save Kerrigan, then told Kerrigan to become primal, and lastly freed Artanis from The Khala. Zeratul is the reason Amon was defeated. Artanis, Raynor, and Kerrigan made certain his death was not in vain. 44:55 I will also forever love that Artanis took Zeratul's psi blade and used it to threaten Amon; Artanis is a calm and collected person, but he has nothing but scorn and hatred for Amon over how he murdered Zeratul, who was a mentor and friend to Artanis. 22:07 Artanis and his Protoss army actually lured over a billion Zerg and hundreds of hybrids under Amon's control to that planet and he and The Dark Templar blew it up in order to kill as many as they could. "They want out kingdom? We'll keep our people they can have the land's ashes."

8:30 Zeratul never betrayed them. He accidentally revealed the location of Aiur to the Swarm. He killed the mindcontrolled Nerazim Matriarch to free her but the Nerazim didn't see it that way. This lead him to be an outcast to both Nerazim and Aiur Protoss. Then, he was fooled by Kerrigan into killing the Overmind, her master which freed her from its control. Kerrigan then proceeded to ram a galactic sized tentacled vibrating dick up everyone's bums. The timeline of what I said might not be right.

Also the first Starcraft released in 1998( I got into the game then), and it wasn't till 2010 that they picked it back up and fleshed out the story/campaigns in part 2(Wings of Liberty). Blizzard used to be the king, but they've lived too long and have embraced corporate villainy. We're just waiting on Kerrigan to put them bitches down.

41:30 so between this clip and the other a lot happens campaign wise, they rescue artanis, he comes back to the ship and talk to the red protoss from the taldarim called alarak, turns out hes seeking to overthrow the actual leader of the taldarim (a faction of protos that worships amon but are not under his direct control cause theyre not conected to the khala, they just follow him cause they think is a god), alarak asks for the aid of the daelam to make this happen and in exchange he will retire the taldarim army from the equation when he becomes the leader, hes not really a good guy but hey is better than nothing. So before this happens they go to another planet searching for an old technology made by the protoss long ago called the purifier program. these are basically robots with AI of former living protoss. the planet is infested with zerg so thats why the big laser shoots at the end of that clip 42:32. theyre skipping a lot XD in the process they make a robot friend with a conciousnes that belonged to a protoss hero and old friend of artanis called fenix, also this guy is who helps em convince the purifiers to join em and end up leading the purifiers. at 44:00 they travel to a facility, where humans controled by amon are in charge of making more hybrids for its army, so theyre there to shut it down.

Alarak and his people were servants of Amon but when they found out Amon did not care about them they joined the rest of the Protoss race against Amon. As you can imagine their culture is very different having serving a dark god for hundreds of years. Alarak says he does not allow his people to have free will so the fact he gave them one chance to leave and join the rest of the protoss was a big deal.

so the story is, the xelnaga the giant hp lovecraft creatures are gods, and they created life in the universe (possibly on earth too) they created both the protoss and the zerg, but the protoss were the first born, later on in history protoss faught against the new corrupted zerg by amon, amon and narud (the one kerrigan fought who looked like jim but with red eyes) are both evil xelnagas, the main goal of them is to mix protoss and zerg genetic material to create creatures that both physicaly strong and mentaly, so capable of working with essence and psy powers, ALSO THERE IS ONE MORE CAMPAIGN, ITS NOVA COVERT OPS watch it its also pretty interresting it happens after legacy of the void.

what you guys don't know, I think, is that although there are characters and there is a story, the outline of SC is not all about "this specific story", but about broad sweeping concepts in general, for example the two zealot warriors sacrificing their otherwise eternal souls to merge into an archon, a being with a deep connection to the "void", an infinite existence of energy. It's not about the one bug that fights it, it's about the idea that imagine what a big bug could, .... and the gameplay (multiplayer is the real focus of the game) is centered on incorporating all possible fantasy ideas which do manifest themselves in some character form, but are not limited from other very similar ideas. If there is a way to make good gameplay out of it, human fantasy lore already has a way to understand it.

You need a little context to understand all the history here, since you never played SC1. The protoss were unified by a leader now called Khas after the Aeon of Strife (a bloody protoss civil war), and to solidify that union he developed the Khala, a network of thoughts and feelings each single protoss shared that uses the large nervous apendages in the protoss heads. Then the protoss adopted a caste for of govermen, The Judicator (governors), The Templar (warriors) and the Khalai (Technicians and preservers). There were a tribe of protoss that didn't want to adopt the Khala, and they started to embrace the Void energy (a taboo issue for the protoss culture and the Conclave) so the then Executor Adun was ordered by the Conclave (the highest peak of the Judicator caste) to execute all of them. Adun saw this like authoritarian and not justified action, so instead he hid all of the Nerazim (or Dark Templar) from the influence of the Conclave, but psionic storms caused by the Nerazim made the cover to fail, so the Conclave ordered all the Nerazim to be exiled into the space in a Xel'Naga ship. Already exiled, the Nerazim embraced all the Void energy and decided to cut any ties with the Khala and the rest of the protoss, so they cut the apendages and stablished on Shakuras, their new Homeworld, but they never forgot Aiur. In other notes, Zeratul didn't betray Artanis, it was the Nerazim matriarch Raszagal under the control of Kerrigan. And the red mean protoss guy named Alarak is the leader of the Tal'darim, an ancient protoss tribe that was taken by the Xel'Naga as they abandoned Aiur,

You could catch a lot more if you saw the the cinematic cuts that include the exchanges between missions and conversations. Something of interest, Amon created the Khala. Like the opening cinematic said, every thought and emotion is shared by the khala, a hivemind like thing Amon made to try and control the Protoss, but they were too strong of will. So he ran away and tried a 2nd time, and succeed by creating Zerg HiveMind. During the first attempt to Retake Aiur, Amon revealed the Khala was his all along and corrupted anyone who was still connected to it, the Templar and High Templar. Only the Dark Templar who ritualistically sever their nerve cords are safe, and it was only a few years earlier when Artanis took over as leader of the Protoss were they no longer Exiled for doing so. They then retreated to the Spear of Adun, and fled to Shakuras, the world the Dark Templar settled on when after they were exiled. It is basically the Dark Templar homeworld. That is the planet that was destroyed in the early cutscenes. A Nydus Worm broke through the wall and dumped out Zerglings, Artanis protected the crystal to buy time for it to charge up and activate the Planet killing chain reaction. Kerrigan at the end of Heart of the Swarm did go seek out Amon, but she had yet to find him. This game starts immediately after the end of Heart of the Swarm (maybe even slightly before it). Zeratul in the middle of HOTS said he would go back to his people to face judgement after he guided Kerrigan to become the Primal Queen of Blades. He was on his way in the prologue/tutorial missions, and then for the first main mission he arrived in the starting invasion cut-scene at 7:00.

Incorrect. Amon did not create the Khala. It was Savassan aka Khas who created it. Amon saw what the Khala did and recreated it with the Zerg by making the Hivemind. Through this process, he was able to reverse engineer it and gain acess to the Khala.

But protoss grown strong willed due to artificial evolution and lost their connection. Amon left them and found the zerg. He's got an immense ego, but the skills to match it. There are also no dialogues regarding the Purifiers, which to me is one of the most interesting parts of the Protoss campaign, since they're basically artificial Protoss who effectively have a consciousness but were treated as robotic slaves, and as a result, they chose to self-isolate.

Nerazim (green eyes, violet armor): Chose to sever their hive mind connection for their individuality. Branded by Aiur as heretics and hunt them to extinction but got away as one of the Aiur's hero protected them and went to exile as well. Despite the treatment and hid for all these years, chose to welcome Aiur to their world as fellow refugees. Purifier (orange eyes, white armor): Machines made by Aiur with the memories of their best and brightest people in their history but didn't gave them rights due to being viewed as just machines and tools. Rebelled and was all put to offline and sealed away for years. Taldarim (red eyes, black armor): When Amon manipulate and aided their civilization, these protoss left with Amon and were promised that their loyalty will be rewarded by becoming Hybrids in the final war.
