Due to additional evidence since the episode's release, Matt and Trey have since expressed regret with how Condit and the Ramseys were portrayed; - The Ramseys were exonerated by DNA evidence in 2008 - Congressmen Condit was exonerated in 2009 after someone else was indicted, and later convicted of the murder. (though this was also overturned later in 2016) Edit: Added note about the 2016 overturning.
@bobarcher5837 Жыл бұрын
-The Ramseys were exonerated by the DA, however the police department and multiple experts disagreed with her decision. The Boulder police reopened the case in 2009 so it is still unsolved and the parents are still very much suspects - The other suspect was exonerated when it was determined the sole witness against him lied about his testimony. By definition when that was thrown out Condit was not exonerated and the case is still open So basically you got both things wrong
@solmoman Жыл бұрын
Well then same for OJ, right? He was accused but never sentenced, so he's just as innocent as the Ramsays then. It's like they forgot their own punchline suddenly. But then again, they've gotten boring over the years. At season 16 they headed downhill and after season 20 SP went plain boring

@@solmomanThe difference is there was far more damning evidence against OJ. The jury just refused to convict to avoid a repeat of the L.A. riots. Also, at least one juror is confirmed to have flashed a Black Power hand gesture immediately after the verdict was read. And another juror said the verdict was payback for Rodney King. Plus photo evidence of Simpson wearing those shoes eventually emerged, but not until after the trial ended. A tainted jury combined with some very lucky timing are why O.J. avoided prison.
@gugurupurasudaikirai7620 Жыл бұрын
This is one of the very rare episodes where the creators had regrets and an apology to make. They referenced the Jon Benet Ramsey case here but years later the evidence pointed away from the parents. The mother died years ago but even now the father is pressuring the police department to release the DNA evidence but they don't want to (or lost it) because there is now new technology that could potentially solve the case. There are even doubts about Gary Condit. OJ Simpson is another matter but they still owed an actual apology for this episode
@solmoman Жыл бұрын
Yeah you'll always see about 15 people saying that on this episodes reactions. Everyone knows, nobody cares, get over it
@himankkr7060 Жыл бұрын
The parents know who did it even if they didn’t. Random DNA so many years later doesn’t prove anything.
@maxcandlestick80279 ай бұрын
Gary Condit is the only one who’s for sure innocent. They found the killer and it had nothing to do with him. The DNA they’re talking about with the Ramseys is trace evidence which is unreliable anyway, and given how the crime scene was utterly and completely mishandled, could easily be entirely unrelated and the one official who released a statement exonerating them doesn’t even accurately represent the views of everyone in the department working the case, so I’d chill on stating it like irrefutable fact.

jon benet ramsey was her name. the problem with that case was everyone was a good suspect. there was a guy close to the family or something that was htought to have done it. the parents were suspected and her brother was suspected. all of them looked like they could b guilty. but the parents i think were exonerated by dna. but this happened in like the 90's. this episode is season 5. its like season 22 or 23 right now.
