Although I don`t think it has anything to do with culture (which is way over-rated). If anything, many of SP episodes display a sort of sacrilegeous nihilism.

The episodes themselves demonstrate only a sense of mocking incongruity, and the creators have made it very clear that, although they are ready and willing to mock religious ideas, the idea that only the material exists and that "we're just here and for no reason" is the absolute height of idiocy.
