I first heard this music at age about 10, when my parents listened to this every evening. They and I were mesmerised then. Sixty years have gone by, my parent have long passed and I am still mesmerised. Heavenly.

My grandfather was born in Mantua. He came to Brazil at the beginning of the last century. He was a tailor in the small town of Itu where he married my grandmother Wilhelmina. I remember Itu when I hear this beautiful song.

My grandfather was born in Italy and left for the United States when he was 20-30. He settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, married my Grandmother, who was from Germany. He's been dead for 20 years, died at the age of 101. I never discussed his hometown or what he did as a child. He was a tailor in San Francisco his entire life. Made the finest suits from the best materials. He called his 1954 Chrysler Imperial "the machine".
