Amen to that. I actually saw a NS freight with a C36-7 and C30-7 leading back in 1998 or so, then a CSX GP39, low nosed GP38, and two Conrail GP35’s on a mixed coal train. I did however catch a few high hooded B30-7A1’s, and a few high hooded U30C and 33C locomotives in the hay day

Low nosed uboats not the high hoods. IIRC they were off the roster by 1985-86ish. My great grandpa actually has seen those high hood uboats however

Moved, restored, and accessible. I think the station museum and model RR club is open on Sundays. Great place to spend a day.

I never knew the tower was moved to it's current location. My question is how on earth did they move it over the tracks?

That's a good question. Maybe a subscriber knows. I went there after it was moved and the museum people really did a nice restoration, inside and out. It's really worth a trip to see it.

TrainTrackTrav there is a video of the tower being moved on KZbin. Search for it is my best advice. But the railroads closed both mainlines for a bit.
