I'm traveling to Africa for 2 months, where I can get a local physical SIM, but I see there are also eSIM options using Airalo or another eSIM travel carrier. The SIM card tray would not accept a 2nd sim so I bought a dual sim tray on Amazon but cannot for the life of me gain dual sim access when loaded, which I have carefully done. Is this because the phone model of the iPhone 12 Pro bought in uk does not support even though I have upgraded recent;y to the latest iOS 15.1?

Great video. Thank you. I also have a personal phone and a business phone and would love to only carry one phone. However, my phones have separate apple id's which means I have photo's, text messages, and contacts from BOTH phones that I don't want to lose. Both phones are iphones and both have Verizon as the carrier. Anyway to combine photo's, contacts and text messages from both phones onto one phone? How does it work when each phone has it's own apple id? I plan to purchase the 13 pro if that makes a difference. But I do want to keep text messages, photos and contacts from both phones if possible. Thanks for any help here!

I don’t think there is a way to do this. I have had a lot of issues with dual sim. They need to establish 2 profiles for both phones that can separate texts and call logs but apple merges both together so the phone will automatically send texts from the number I wouldn’t want. I just ended up buying another phone. I think the best thing to do is use the same Apple ID for both phones and then select which phone you can receive and send messages from.

Thanks for another awesome tutorial Marion! I'm looking at the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have a question if I may; Can I use for example, one SIM card for AT&T primary data plan/carrier with the other SIM slot being free to use for a different country? I would like to be able to swap SIM cards in and out when vacationing in other countries with their local cell number as if the iphone is unlocked. If that's possible all I would need to do is purchase a small bundle each time I visit abroad. Thanks again! 😊👍

As long as you have a dual physical sim version of an iPhone (HK, Macau, or China) then you can have the other slot free. If you are from the US and have a US iPhone, try to convert your SIM into an eSIM, so you can have the physical one open for another SIM. Also, it’s important that your iPhone is factory unlocked.

@@MarionSerrano I am from the US. Looks like this won't work out for me. I'm actually trying to unlock an older iPhone 6 that hasn't been used for several years other than a remote for my GoPro. I did request an unlock and received authorization from my AT&T provider. Problem is, they want me to insert a new different SIM in order to do the Unlock. I can't do that because I plan on using the iPhone 6 in Aruba with a Local Aruba number. Unfortunately, they won't send a SIM card through the mail. Thanks again for your help, appreciate it. 😊

I’m not using two SIMs now, but I did when I had an 11. My battery life was noticeably shorter when it had two SIMs. Pero if you’re always in an area where signal is not a problem for both, you wouldn’t notice much. Wow thank you so much! This inspires me to keep going. 😊

It depends on which iPhone model. For the iPhone 12 lineup, HK/China models all have the PH cellular bands, so no difference in cellular performance. I had the iPhone 11 HK variant before which was missing one band that PH was using. I didn’t notice it really since I don’t have another PH variant phone to compare it with. It was totally usable. I would recommend it, if you’re willing to take the chance that warranty might not be accepted.

Hello! I don't know where my iPhone 11 is made from but I bought it from the Abenson store. It is a dual sim. However its sim slot is only one, so I bought a dual sim slot from Shopee to use my phone which is dual sim. However, when I inserted the slot, it doesn't appear like what other videos in yt are showing. Supposedly there is a message that will prompt to select your carrier. So what shall I do then?
