Thank you Marion for this quick tutorial. I had an older needlework teacher at secondary school who had us hold the loop in a pencil to make the loops the same size. What a nightmare and total faff. Hand held hoop and 2 hands. You can imagine the mess we got into. Hoops clattering on desks and the teacher moaning at us about needlework being a quiet pastime that ladies indulged in. It was the early 70's , felt like 1870 .Thank goodness for a mum who stitched and with no rules.

Thank you so much for this extra tutorial on Turkey Work. It strikes me as a very fun stitch, especially to add to, say, an embroidered cushion cover, for added texture and "strokability". Or on a handbag! I must experiment with some different yarns. Thanks, Marion - you're so generous! ❤

❤ ooo TY ! What a nice surprise to wake up to ! 👏👏👏 TY dear. I bought a couple of bags of incompleated projects from the local church shop last week... both had wool-ish thread. One much thicker. I presume one is crewel and one lot is tapestry but not sure. Shall have to show you and see what you think. Looking forward to using this stitch
