Maritime Council asks Marcos: Publicize RORE missions to BRP Sierra Madre

The National Maritime Council (NMC) has recommended to President Marcos to publicize the rotation and resupply (RORE) missions to the Ayungin Shoal as it raised the possibility that the recent incident in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) may have been due to China possibly not being informed of the mission.

This is tantamount to asking petmission from China to resupply. This means our leadership gave in to China's demand to ask permission to engage in resupply activities and not send materials to repair the BRS Sierra Madre. If this happens, the BRS Sierra Madre will eventually be worn out and we lose our military post in due time then then the Chinese take over. In effect the MDT, support from our allies is useless because our leadership itself is hesitant to defend our territorial rights in the West Philippine Sea. Tuloy din pala ang gentlemens agreement ni Duterte. I think PBBM is ill advised by Duterte thinking members of the NSC.

It appears they control the sea and we have to ask permission which is what they want according to their publicize statement. The recent actions and attitudes of this administration towards the resupply mission have raised serious concerns about their sincerity and integrity. Announcing and publicizing the mission was ill-advised and jeopardized the safety of our military personnel. Furthermore, the administration's failure to visit and boost the morale of our troops is disappointing.
