That’s honestly my memory of every friend that tried to take me rock climbing too. I’ve been promised normal hikes before only to find the trail is mostly rock climbing with a steady increase in difficulty as we went. Like started off walking, then the incline gets so steep I need to grip with all fours, then it’s just a straight up wall that I’m not skilled enough to climb and my friend is wondering why I’m mad at them for not disclosing that the trail required lots of climbing and not at least providing safety equipment when I “did so well.”

I entered a rock climbing competition having never touched a rock wall IN MY LIFE. Through sheer force of will and determination I MADE IT.... like a third of the way up the easiest wall then was in pain for the next four days. To my credit, everyone was very impressed that I had the balls to do something I'd never done, publicly, against pros. Shocking spoiler alert: I didn't win.

Ah yes, this video takes me back to my 3 years of high school rock climbing. I remember my entire class silently listening to our PE teacher explain how to tie the double 8 rope. It was like magic. and hell. Those tying tests had us sweating. At first, it was terrifying going anywhere but up with shaky legs and hands that held to those colourful rocks for dear life. But the more we did it, the more it was fun! I'm grateful for all the races, challenges, and seeing some-unfortunate-souls-fall-back-flat-like-a-pancake-because-their-classmate-didn't-give-them-time-to-say-the-safe-word-Sèche!-so-they-just-let-go-of-the-rope, yeah that was fun :D Now I can climb walls without ropes. It's absolutely still terrifying. So, props to Tyler and anyone that can climb without them, you're insane!

As a fellow Cincinnatian, it is true most people have Skyline (or Gold Star) on essentially any day of the week. I love that I can understand Mark’s childhood stories since so many other youtubers are from major cities, other countries, or in states ive never been. But ive lived on the KY/OH border all my life so it’s far easier for me to imagine all of this stuff. I probably grew up maybe 30~40 minutes max from Mark.
