Two books I read years ago and never forgot and highly recommend: "The Struggle Against Fascism in Germany" by Leon Trotsky The introduction by Ernest Mandel is especially important in explaining what fascism is. "Fascism and Big Business" by Daniel Guerin. "Fascism: What It Is, How To Fight It" by Leon Trotsky. Consists of few selections from the previously mentioned work.

What’s most interesting about this presentation is that these guys admit that “fascism” is a very small, marginal, and unpopular tendency in mainstream society. And yet it’s somehow a grave threat to civilization. Being an “anti-fascist” in 21st century Western civilization is about as sensible as being a McCarthyite (although the mainstream center-left is trying to bring that back as well with the “Russia-gate” hysteria). -Keith Preston

I don't understand Antifa is against fascists, but yet over and over I hear them try to push there option. Is that not called fascists or bigotry.

That is a stupid argument. Antifa is on the side of freedom. Fascists are not!

i like the idea of antifa members organising programmes with labour unions and undocumented workers/people. i think the only challenges to antifa that are logically consistent are those that question the use of violence and those that ask about the end game of antifa's activities. i think we can all agree that fascism will sooner or later result in violence, and that it is largely an opportunistic movement that takes hold in times of poverty, instability or recession. so it makes sense that we have to defend ourselves against fascists, but also to try prevent it by helping the poor and minority groups that are discriminated against by capitalism. unless you are bourgeois i fail to see the problem with antifa's core message and duties

I AM antifascist. You'd have to be pretty stupid to subscribe to a philosophy shared by a$$holes like Hitler. When you say antifa I think of the violent black bloc, and ranting Marxist idiots like Yvette Felarca of 'By Any Means Necessary' who as far as I can see are hijacking 'anti-fascism' for their own ends. (see also my reply to swfcocs1) - I look forward any to polite & rational discussion of my comments.
