As an Australian, we respect Bob Willis as one of England's best fast bowler ever...Good man too

Bob. You've finished your spell of bowling on this little village green. Your captain told me that you should rest for a spell by fielding Long Stop near those trees and the sweet grass of England.

R. I. P Bob Willis. I remember him terrorising us Aussies when I was a lad. Fabulous bowler with the heart 💓 of a true British Lion. Sadly missed but great memories remain.

Butcher said it well, rest in peace Mr. Willis. I absolutely loved your commentary and cricket will never be the same without you. You made this sport sound absolutely fantastic with your very high standard of the English vocabulary mixed with a very high knowledge of each individual player. This made me the viewer so heavily invested in every milestone reached by either batsman or bowler. I always loved how he sounded genuinely impressed when accomplishments were reached. Rip Mr Willis.

i dont think england have had a fast bowler like him since. put everything into every delivery. loved watching him bat too. used to throw his bat at almost everything, getting him a few streaky 4's or a 6 here and there. certainly not a number 11 rabbit. RIP Bob

As a kid, I would take off my hero's Marshall, Thomson and Willis. A quiet gentlemen off the field, but when Bob had the ball things were about to happen, The world is a sader place now.

I had Bob Willis,Malcolm Marshall Jeff Thompson and D k Lillie in my backyard side ,Desmond Haynes and Gordon Greenidge as my openers ,Border and Viv Richards as my middle order ,Jeffery Dujon as wicket keeper ,and we had to have 2 compulsory lefties even though I was a righthander ,but i usually had more lefties ,it was either C Lloyd or Larry Gomes because he could bowl spin . Lenny Pascoe as well sometimes. We always taped one side of a tennis ball for the swing.. Good times.

Bob and Fred Trueman were the two genuinely great 95mph fast bowlers we've (England) ever produced. Willis clocked at 95mph after his knees were wrecked, imagine how fast he'd have gone if he'd been 100% 🔥🔥🔥 Amazing cricketer, sublime man.

The 8 for 43 against Aust. Incredible. No histrionics after the game, first bloke off the field. That day was probably the finest display of fast bowling by an English player. Rest easy buddy.
