Several years have gone by since the nineties, and I just have to say it (although it's a little too late): I was raised on a steady diet of harder-edged rock music (think punk, metal, alternative, and their many cousins) - rather than any kind of pop, country, rap, or rhythm and blues; I was die-hard in my pursuits and single minded to a fault. I played bass guitar with a number of local bands - and shunned and derided any music that didn't have that heavily angry sound. Shockingly - 90s-era country music pleasantly altered my whole damned perspective. The many highly skilled styles and performances of country music from this particular time period firmly grabbed hold of my soul's inner recesses and shook the thing awake; this stuff was nothing short of utterly fantastic -- and I very sadly miss it.
@candyrockwell649510 ай бұрын
I applaud your astute observations. Country music is highly underrated. Personally, I have an eclectic music taste, I was born in 89, but I was raised listening to Waylon, Conway, Jones, Tammy and Loretta, and I love their music just as much, if not more than the 90s era music. I'm an old soul, I reckon lol
@baddgoat8510 ай бұрын
Many people aren't even open to giving country music a try, but if they would just listen to 90s country for one day it would suck them right in. You can't help it. It's just plain GREAT. Only real artists will see the complexity and genius present in 90s country

September 30, 1996: MCA releases Mark Chesnutt's "It's a Little Too Late" to country radio stations. October 2, 1996: Mark Chesnutt's "It's a Little Too Late" music video premieres on CMT, naming Mark Chesnutt a CMT Showcase Artist of the Month. Directed by Richard Murray, and produced by Cindy Montano. As the video begins, a moving van pulls into the driveway of a house. Two guys hop out of the truck and go inside the house. The scene reveals that a man is watching Claude "Fish" Fishburne hosting "Go Fish" on TNN. A woman grabs a pair of cymbals to start the song. The movers pack everything up inside the house, except the sofa and the TV. Meanwhile, Mark sings and plays guitar. The woman interrupts the narrator from watching television, and gives her husband a fish and a rod to enjoy it; a young Lee Ann Womack makes a cameo appearance, they thank the movers for everything. As the video ends after the moving van leaves, everyone was gone, and starts to rain on the narrator.👍
