You have to respect both of these guys for having this convo! Mark Cuban is a real one for standing firm on his position though

@ceekay5376Ай бұрын
It's refreshing to see that they both wanted to work with each other, but have respect for each other after the plan didn't work out. Mark is an astute businessman and has a great eye for exceptional talent, as evidenced in the moves he's been making in terms of recent notable player signings. Jalen, obviously, has a great team working behind the scenes to maximize his success.

Cuban showed difference of respected owner vs ego. Ego would have have him defend and back up everything Brunson said. But maturity and lack of ego in the right situation had him answer best way he could have. Showed Brunson he probably doesn’t know the full story .
@Brilliance728Ай бұрын
props to these guys for having a convo, but Mark definitley took the high road here. Props to Jalen for trying to speak on it on this podcast but this wasn't the place to do it especially if they're not seeing eye to eye on his pops' role.
@benmecha01Ай бұрын
You can tell mark regrets letting Jalen leave even though he knows he couldn’t match what the knicks in terms of his dad/role etc
@L.A.M.B4Ай бұрын
Peep when he mentions it was the same deal and mark says I don’t know the details, marks pulls down on his ear👀 damn… that’s why it was a weird negotiation having his parents involved 🤦🏾♂️
@charlesw7441Ай бұрын
Jalen's a smart dude he knew the Mavs are always going to be Luka's team. He rolled the dice knowing the Knicks were the up and coming team and made a business decision. Best decision he could've made for himself and his family and it obviously wasn't all about the money.
@edmundnlemadim8480Ай бұрын
crazy to see how freaking convoluted a conversation gets when parents and player representation (agent) get involved. So many gaps between their two perspectives, little ones, but gaps nonetheless that can only be filled in by what the agent, and Rick Brunson to some extent, were doing/saying to Mavs management (GM, and then Mark) This is kind of like the telephone game where you tell someone next to you something then 5 people down, its half of what was said LOL
@soriba391Ай бұрын
Man, let's just say it like it is: Jalen's dad and his agents fucked Mark over for the better opportunity of Jalen's whole team.

I’m impressed at both of these guys can get on a podcast and discuss. I don’t think anybody would’ve thought JB would be this good but Dallas should’ve known better. They’re lucky they got the buy low on Kyrie.

So pretty much Jalen went to Knicks because his dad went there….and Knicks’s connection to the CAA probably lended him money…… 😅 which I wouldn’t know if that is legal to offer a contract with the incentive lol which Mark Cuban threw out lol

Brunson stood on business and Cuban didn’t want to speak on some real shit. They didn’t want to max him out plain and simple. Can never be mad when players leave. Cuban showed business is business but came off salty while doing so.
@kevinkoobmeejyangАй бұрын
I think Mark didn’t want to go there out of respect for Jalen. It seems like Jalen felt obligated to go to the Knicks bc his dad went there. Mark said it that the only way for it to work was to offer the max. Jalen probably didn’t take it bc he wanted to go with the Knicks/his dad. Jalen’s dad seems controlling…

Jalen is setting a Blueprint for creating a Championahip Team...all Mark can do is make Jokes about Jalen getting Stock in CAA😂...clearly it shows what can happen when a player is educated and can look beyond a big payday to see an even bigger payday...and NBA Title!

“We weren’t hearing back” …two seconds later: “We put up a number, they said ‘too low’…well really the only number that’s going to make it work is a max out contract” Did you not hear back, or did not you not hear back the aanswer you wanted? Acting like JB didn’t give you the opportunity to resign is wild. By Mark’s own admission, they had two opportunities (initial lowball and offer to sign for the max) and blew it. Acting like that’s JB’s fault because they didn’t give you a third, fourth, fifth bite at the apple is wild.

After seeing divincenzo reaction today, brunson seems like a cold mofucka. The king of new york. how you gone have an awkward asss conversation on camera

It doesn’t make sense because then he turned down 30 million or something like that for the new Knicks contract. So it must’ve been something else.

So basically Jalen wanted to be with his dad but won't just admit it. Nothing wrong with choosing family, especially because everyone had success.
