Dirk is the greatest Maverick ever for now, absolutely. But that wasn't the statement. It was that Luka is already a better player overall than Dirk was in his prime. And that's much more believable. Nobody is saying Luka is the best Maverick ever, but he is on the road to reach that position if he keeps it up.

They’re not gonna win the championship because Luka is maturing, they’re gonna win a championship because they added three better players, lively got much better during the off-season, and Luka is not gonna be injured. Luka is already the best player in the game and as he gets better it’ll just make it easier for them to keep winning.

@@karsonrivers9880 yep. Even Jordan was older. Even shack and Kobe playing together saw Shaq winning in his ninth season and Kobe winning in his fifth. The only exceptions I can think of are magic and bird who won immediately out of college. Otherwise stars always take six years or more to get to the top. But my point isn’t that Luca doesn’t need to mature, it’s that his lack of maturity isn’t the reason they lost. They had a total collapse of the rest of the team leaving him alone trying to carry them while playing injured. If he’s healthy maybe they win one or both of those seven point losses but it’s still too much to ask from anybody to be the only person on the team scoring over 20 points.
