What an awesome poddy, MG is such a genuine, honest and loyal bloke. He's seen and done a lot and I think it's a testament to him that Penrith have such a strong leadership culture, especially with players that come from upbringings or environments that have a lot of barriers and hurdles to overcome to be successful. It's a very special region which the Panthers have almost always embraced.

You forgot to mention ...When he was at Umina ,Mark attended Central coast Leagues clubs night club Troppo, he saw a club employee who had just knocked off duty , Geyer thought he was part of Security , but he wasn't . The guy was one of the nicest placid guys that worked there, Mark tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned around Geyer king hit him and knocked the guy out... he was then banned from the club .. for the record that employee was named Wayne.

Some time in the early 2000s (i think) i was at Panthers with my mate and we we're walking down the stairs to Hungry Jacks that used to be down there and this guy came bolting up the stairs and nearly knocked us both over, before we could figure out what was going on we looked up and see a rather fired up MG getting up from a table and he starts to charge towards us after the guy. Without any time to think here's me and my mate putting ourselves in front of this angry MG and basically tackling him to prevent him from getting to the bloke who had obviously done something to upset him. Lucky both me and my mate played league at the time so it wasn't completely foreign to us to have someone charging at us but when its MG at Hungry Jacks just as your stepping off a staircase its pretty bloody frightening let me tell ya. I still remember both of us saying to ourselves afterwards while havinga beer "what the hell we're we thinking jumping in front of that lunatic?" 😂 But we just acted on instinct and didn't have time to think, and we could see a female or maybe even 2 who Mark was sitting with trying to chase him and stop him. From memory it might have been MGs Mum or wife or both of them. I tell my kids the story of the day i tackled MG at Hungry Jacks inside Panthers whenever i see him on TV. Who knows what that guy did and i don't want to know what MG would have done to him if we didn't get in his way. 🤣 MG later became a bit of a mentor to a mate of mine who was a young Penrith front rower, Ned Catic, and ive got a few other stories of MG calling Ned and me picking up the phone but i won't share those. 😊 Also, that origin game was the first origin game i went to, ill never forget it, the atmosphere was like nothing else. Mad chat 👍

I was 15 watching that origin game. The 2nd time Wally got up in MG's face, MG shoves him back and raises his fists, i legit remember thinking " OMG he's gonna k*ll him... "
