Obviously it wasn't what Carter was referring to, but it was a great comeback from Greene. "What are you gonna do?" "Die, I guess." was also good -- no sense in sugar-coating it. I felt bad though when he said the seizure basically meant he could no longer work an an ER.

The most accurate thing was how angry he was when he got up. Not because he didn’t want a work up, but because coming out of a seizure often you’re irrationally angry and a little punch-y. If you ever have to assist someone through a grand mal seizure be aware 😬

My younger sister, whom is virtually non-verbal, would get really aggressive even after a petit mal seizure, but I never knew why. Only thing I could do was give her a gentle (but very firm, as in applying pressure, but not too much ...) bear hug until she calmed down. Sometimes she would start crying; weaping, actually ... and that burned me like no other, because I am damn sure she knew what was going on, but, as still yet, there is no means for her to 'speak' ... I yearn for the day for those imprisoned by their own bodys, whom are unable to communicate with the world outside their own brain, to end what must be a horror beyond the human imagination ... ... it will be too late for my sister, but I pray not for others, or they whom are yet to be ...

GBMs are usually operable, in fact gold standard management involves maximal debulking along with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the form of temozolamide. However, in spite of these advances, the 1 year mean survival is still quite dismal even in the best patients. Have seen a lot of it in my patients. Quite sad. (What makes GBM inoperable is based on patient age, location and if it is multifocal or crossing large white matter tracts, in which case they are called "Butterfly" gliomas. The STUPP trial elaborates on these things if you ever curious/ interested about it mate) Cheers

The worst mistake for ER : the Mark Greene's death. If the producers had just decided to give the opportunity of his character to go somewhere else (like for Doug Ross or Carol Hathaway) and even we had a small scene from time to time, the series wouldn't have changed after like this.

It would not have made sense for him to do that. He had tenure, which Weaver resented, and one of the reasons for his divorce was that he would not leave for private practice. Administrative detritus was never his strong suit so it would not make sense if he took a position as a Dean at the medical school. The only way I could think of Dr. Greene leaving in a way that didn’t kill him off would be an alternative story arc where Dr. Weaver became Chief of Staff and to force him out she made working there a living hell for Dr. Corday that Dr. Greene resigns in protest.
