As someone who LARPs and is in the mindset of playing to lift (making the story good and giving the spotlight to others through roleplay) Jesse would be awesome to have at any game. Dude just wants to hang out and make his own fun instead of having the story revolve around his heroic actions. Team Evil for life.

My favorite episode. Jokes aside, I loved the LARP talk and how Mark explains how much it shares a lot of things with DnD. Hope Jesse and Dodger can invite Brett (assuming he's available to talk). 1:18:25 I don't think Crendor needs to worry about it too much. They fast-racked the story of Arcane so they move on to the other stories in Runeterra. Maybe in the future they'll explain Heimerdinger's past and what his race is all about.

I think the best part about Jesse's approach to LARPing is that he's not actively seeking to disrupt or make the narrative revolve around him. He wants to do something that is interesting for other people and - most importantly - he's totally planning on losing to them, he wants to be defeated to tell an awesome story.

Reminded me of that LARP episode of Supernatural or that movie Knights of Badassery :D Had a group from church that used to go the local Ren Fair and always had a blast. We'd all dress up and the leader of the group played the part of traveling royalty and the rest of us were either members of his court or fellow nobles that he'd met along the road. One of my favs was when the group leaders daughters boyfriend at the time dressed up as an elf in an Elvis costume and played the part of traveling minstrel called......Elfis lol. That time I was playing the part of a lesser noble they had met on the road and I got to do an improv introduction of Elfis to the king of the fair. Fun times fun times

I feel like Jesse would get along with the guys from the Skill Tree channel. Kit loves playing a shady rogue, and basically turned himself into a crime boss at Reckoning LARP. He brought a bunch of games and started a gambling den, he ran a bounty board where players could put out bounties on other players, and generally spent the week stealing things and sewing chaos.

I feel like I can grant a bit of clarification of at least my point of view when it comes to Viktor's rework. Now, I'm not super upset about it, but I do feel like there are a few aspects of it I am not fond of. And I am using this to practice articulating and putting words to my thoughts and feelings. SPOILERS FOR ARCANE, OBVIOUSLY! The Viktor in the show and the pre-rework Viktor has almost nothing to do with each other. Really only 3 things: Name, accent and talk of "Glorious evolution". And in Arcane, his accent has been turned down, cause it was excessive. League Viktor is a lot more steampunk-looking cartoon villain, which in Arcane could make sense with chemtech, but I also see that with his story, they had to lean more hextech. The designs are different enough that I am close to saying, they could've been different characters, but with the story of Arcane and the lore of League before Arcane, it would also be hard to justify using someone other than Viktor. 1 of the most iconic things of League Viktor is his third robotic arm that is constantly there. In Arcane S1, we get a reference to it when they show their invensions to Heimerdinger, and other than that, it's not really there other than when he shoots a lazer at Jayce ONCE during their flying fight. Something about the design of the 3rd arm didn't really sit right in my perception, and felt a bit crammed in because it had to be there, otherwise it wouldn't be Viktor. His visual rework looks great, but after talking with Viktor mains, they decided to not change his kit, which doesn't fit the story or design as well as it did previously. So to me, they compromised in places to make things for familiar in both League and Arcane, and I feel like the compromises lowered the standard of the design/redesign of final form of Arcane Viktor, as well as upcoming League Viktor. While I see that old Viktor could definitely use a visual upgrade, and the new design is great (sans aforementioned compromises), however I still feel like we are losing a very fun and more cohesive design in favour of something ever so slightly disjointed, albeit shinier. So short version: We now have 2 iterations of the character, who have almost nothing in common other than mostly surface level stuff. The new iteration seems to have a few things crammed in to make the character recognizeable with the old design, and just compromized on the kit to stay the same, while the kit doesn't really fit the new design at all.

If I was to do LARPing, I’d wanna do a plot about a hero looking for an ancient artefact and, when they find it, it corrupts them and, when they come back for the next LARP, the corruption has overtaken them and they’ve become a power hungry warlord.

I've been LARPing for almost a decade and a half now and it'd be really cool to share an event one day with Mark. I was actually part of a Flemish (Belgian) group of Uruks called the Gijak Sorr who now play at Empire but circumstances required me to step back just before they started going. Most my international LARPs are in Germany though, Conquest of Mythodea being the biggest one of course.

I once LARPed a Witch Hunter/Robber Baron character in a very GoT/Vikings kinda LARP called Omen who was modeled after my *actual* Frisian Robber Baron ancestors (hence the heraldry pfp) and it was very satisfying but hard at times going against my true good, helpful nature. I was the court torturer to my High House's Lord as well so I tortured and burned other players at the stake. I got a lot of respect for that one.

LARPing really is misunderstood. I've been to a LARP in a fantasy zombie as a backdrop in a three kingdom situation. Lots of prep though and depending on the community, the armour and props is taken very seriously. It is definitely diffcult if you are an introvert though.
