One of the greatest movies ever made

Watched this movie and it reminded me of Last of Us Pt.2 a lot in the themes, the way the violence is presented and even some particular story beats.

Whilst the film may feel too long in parts, the film’s still A well directed, well acted, thrilling & shockingly realistic historical thriller. (78%) (4/5 stars) (positive)

Finally watched MUNICH. And as ever come to see what the chaps thought. And as ever I'm in agreement with MK. Whatever your view on the politics, what it isn't is a movie. It's 1970's television. Really well made television.

Disagree entirely, Kermode is wrong in this case, Munich is an incredible movie and easily among Spielberg's best films!

Key part of the true story was omitted from the film: The Lillehammer affair was the murder of Ahmed Bouchikhi, a Moroccan waiter and brother of the renowned musician Chico Bouchikhi, by Mossad agents in Lillehammer, Norway, on 21 July 1973. The Israeli agents had mistaken their target for Ali Hassan Salameh, the chief of operations for Black September. Six of 15 of the Mossad team were captured and convicted of complicity in the killing by the Norwegian justice system in a major blow to the intelligence agency's reputation.

That's the definition of the Israel/Palestinian conflict really, something which I don't think will end until either one or both sides are entirely gone. It's not a solution I want to occur personally but neither side has been willing to budge whatsoever since the whole thing started and don't look like they might anytime soon.

Well said, now especially as it doesn't seem like it will ever end intill one side is completely gone. Which Israel looks like it's seemingly willing to do.

I'm sure Stewart Lee came up with the joke first.

Just to clarify, Eric Bana used to be a favorite on Aussie sketch-comedy shows, he was not known for his stand-up though he may have done a little. He used to be very funny, then he became a "serious" actor and isn't really funny anymore :(

It's not as balanced as Kermode makes out, it is very well done though great direction.

MArk is so annoying and arrogant here. War of Worlds was awful. Munich has clearly stood the test of time so far and has more relevance now than ever.

War of the worlds may work as a pop corn blockbuster, Munich though is clearly the smarter movie but it maybe has more baggage which sinks it a bit.

I love political thrillers, political films in general. Great film for me, but I can see how 'non-politics people' would find it boring.

@TulseLuper He needs to experiment more, take more risks, maybe take on some supporting roles in COMEDY movies (not rom-coms either). Drop the american accent even, if appropriate for the role. He really did used to be genuinely funny and appear to have a great talent for comedy when he was on shows like Full Frontal.

Maybe I'm not grasping what Mark said, but how's The French Connection a political thriller? It's about one cop's attempt to catch a French drug dealer, at least that's the main story in both French Connection films. Both of the French Connection films are really good, I just wouldn't say politics is the most significant part of it. Just my opinion though.

WRONG, Munich was a FANTASTIC film that gets better through time as a political thriller of a movie!

@IceCreamSuit He also just isn't very good. In Chopper, he was allowed to be funny AND serious, which is why his performance is so chilling. In everything else, he's just so bland.

On a scene by scene basis Munich was well crafted, but the film was for a whole bunch of reasons, bang average as a whole.
