Not that uncommon. A lot of the time it was a matter of finding a left handed bass (or guitar) back then, not feeling comfortable with the ergonomics of flipping a right handed instrument, or like in my case having a teacher who suggests you learn Right Handed. In theory the fretting hand should be stronger, more dexterous but the plucking hand tends to take a bit longer in practice to tighten up the timing.

I write left-handed and play bass right-handed. It's more logical that way - the fretting hand has more variable movements than the picking/slapping/strumming hand, which only does repetitive motions most of the time.

They are everywhere with the jazz fusion . The bassist helps me to try and figure out how bass is mixed in to a song. I'll be continuing to try and figure out how.

Are you saying you like Stanley Clarke or it is like Stanley Clarke?... I'm guessing it's the latter... Mark came up with this bass line as an homage to Stanley Clarke, who is still a class act & if Mark can get people listening to him all the while pushing them towards finding Stanley Clark then that's even better as we usually find our heroes via someone else we enjoy & admire...
