An energy-laden Mark King is absolutely thrilled to team up with Boon Gould again, on this seminal track. Boon, happy to be warmly invited into the heart of the set without the hang ups of touring bearing down on him. An infectious rhythmic beat with characteristic, understated, fluid solo performance from a much-loved and now, sadly, much missed guitarist. Eyes waterfalling.

Boon, you were a legend. I love the current Level 42. Pete and Nathan are the best we can hope for now that Boon and Phil are not there. But Mark, Mike, Boon, Phil and Wally. What a band. You saved my life in the late 80's. World Machine. Running In The Family. (As well as Douglas Adams and Dirk Gently!!!) You gave me hope. And I miss what you were. Be proud. Be very proud. So many of my favourite solo acts & band member's are passing & they're not that old... Off course to some kid/teenager or someone in their 20's will think that's old but wait until they properly grow up & tackle everything that every decade throws at them... A number doesn't dictate how long you live or define you as a person & all we can do is our best & I'm proud to say i earned every minute of my year's that have gone by... It was when the Internet started up year's ago that I started to use it more to find out how people that inspired were doing & to find out what adventure they went on to do as the year's went by... It was great for research material as I could look back on all the newspaper & magazine stories & to find out what I missed happening & it was great to hear both Phil & Boon were still on talking terms with Mark & Mike which as many band's split acrimoniously & never become friends again... The touring that Level 42 did in their early years & all through the 80s was truly insane & they still Tour as much as they can... I always used to jokingly say that line from the Irish music based 1991 Movie " The Commitments " about Level 42 being " The hardest working band in the world " as did do ongoing grueling tours of the UK/Europe & America also... Level 42 toured for 2 years at a time , had a quick break & back out again but if you wanted to make in the Music Industry you had to put in some seriously long touring to get your band's Music to the farest points in the world as possible... May Level 42 have many more year's of touring still left in them but just remember to have a break also... Here's hoping their 40th Anniversary Tour, which is technically 41rst now , " From Eternity To Here " which was due to kick off in October 2020 but was rescheduled for October 2021 but many are worried that they'll lose out on seeing them Live or even getting refund because those in Power what to put in force " Vaccination Passports " I've been tested many times & don't have this coronavirus but because of certain he'll problems I can't take these vaccinations as I could suffer from deadly side effects & then there are those who just don't agree with or want these vaccinations, as what's the point , as you can still catch it & still spread it even if you've had these vaccinations... Hopefully some sanity will prevail & we can all go out for an evening to do something as what used to be so simple & that was to go & see our favourite bands that are out touring... " Fingers Crossed " RIP Boon " Gone But Not Forgotten " Ps Whoever is blowing that whistle needs a slap... No Pun Intended... lol In light of this still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....

Like so many others I followed Level 42 from the beginning and saw them numerous times over the years. They had so many wonderful guitar players, including the incomporable Allan Holdsworth, but Boon was the originator and managed to combine real fusion chops with commercial accessible compositions - that was the genius of Level 42 and no mean feat! I am a fusion fan at heart, but found in Level 42 highly melodic band that had all the chops in the world. RIP Boon and thankyou for the musical memories!

Then Boon came on and it all changed!!! What a gig!!! I rightly or wrongly remember Mark saying quietly, after Heathrow “Boon, you can stay on stage as long as you want” and Boon played the rest of the gig. My question is - did I dream this, or did it happen? Because, there seems to be no evidence on KZbin! If it happened as I remember, has anyone got any footage?????
