So many of the bravest souls died to give the world freedom. A beautiful song with apt lyrics and a sublime tune. God bless the young soldiers who were the best of a generation. An amazing tribute to his and other uncles, dads, sons, brothers, grandads

Thank you both for your heartfelt reaction to this beautiful song! Love the poetic lyricism paired with the evocative Scottish/ Celtic sounding melody. I believe Mark was quite close to his uncle Kingsley (who he has mentioned in many interviews and who really got him interested in music from a very young age). This was a tribute to his mother's and Kingsley's brother - so I think you are right that this song is very personal and meaningful for Mark.
