I was raised on the South Side of Chicago in 1950s-1970 under “Mayor for Life” Richard Daley and came to understand patronage politics very well. In 1982 I joined the Foreign Service serving in jobs that put me in regular contact with “Schedule C” political appointees from both parties. One gets those GS-15 and above jobs by working for the campaign of the person who winds up in the White House running the Executive branch and all of them hewed passionately to the party line because who doesn’t want a job that pays six-figures which has no heavy lifting? Then once you get it you do whatever it takes to keep it another four or more years.

@Jay Bee You got it wrong. It's the Republicans that go to prison. Look at all of Trump's cabinet members and advisors and lawyers that are in prison , indicted or indicted and then pardoned by Trump. He filled the swamp that he promised to drain. It's easy to get confused if you don't understand enough to connect the dots.

I made a series of art works from the Trump days. They are not to ridicule Donnie (they do) but are meant to remind people about what was said and how dangerous the whole episode was/is to the world. I could never understand how Mussolini and Hitler were so influential as they were absurdly overacting clowns with no real platform beyond hate, fear and mania. Donnie is the same…dark humour that really isn’t funny.

not being American, it took me a while to understand that Lindsey had some Bret B vibes about him... kinda... so he cannot be gay and he surely made his mamma proud looking so pretty and funny... oh boy in a healthy version of him he'd be Proust, openly live his life, but still a huge self-centred man of leisure (to his defense, Marcel was locked in chronic ailing, whilst Lindsey only needs the fainting couch for the ig looks of it).

The illigitimate Supreme Court Of The United States is methodically stripping us of our constitutional rights, and if their fanatical extremism goes unchecked the freedom of the press will be no more. Would this be the beginning of the end? I say no. The beginning of the end began decades ago. We cannot allow minority rule. Therefore, law makers, abolish the filibuster, codify civil liberties, etc. The right-wing is fine with destroying American democracy in their desparate ploy to recapture their White Christo Nationalist's power. You remember, back in the good old days. The good old days for white, conservative men. This will not end well for the rest of us. You know..... the majority.
