Nice compression review. The issue with trying to passively drive these with just the Type C cable is that the phone doesn't give the headphones enough power to really drive them. That is why they sound so quiet, despite your volume being maxed out. I ran into the same issue when i first got them. It prompted me to get the iFi Hip Dac 2. If you think they sound amazing now, a nice DAC takes them to the next level.

I agree 100 percent. I have the btr7 I use with them and they sound very good. The cool thing about the btr7 is it fits inside the zipper compartment in the case.

@Doctopian I did get a desktop DAC and they sound so much better with the USB C cable.

Sorry for the late response. I've been using my personlized settings with the PerL Pro. My Pro EQ settings are... 400 - +2.9 1K - +3.7 2.2K - +4.3 5K - +5.1 10K - +6.0 Let me know what you think of those settings.

Any issues with the ML5909 Headband? I heard it falls apart at the stitching. It may stop me buying. Thankyou

Mark Levinson acknowledged there was some kind of issue with the adhesive on a few units leading to some headband issues when the 5909 was first released but said that they have since fixed the issue. I've had mine for about 6 or 7 months now and have had no issues at all even with very heavy use.

@davidmichael3189 No worries anytime! I've tried almost every BT headphone available with the exception of the Dali IO-12 and the ML5909 has been my favorite overall for everything it has to offer. Just a really good jack of all trades
