I don't know a lot about drumming or the drumming world but apparently a lot of it just consists of people complaining about something called "triggers" and how they do or don't use them.
@V1tosich7 жыл бұрын
Elgin Coates by hooking up triggers on a acoustic drum set you basically making them electronic and you can get any sound you want out of them, therefore people use triggers just to get a nice studio sound out of the drums, that's why the drums set always will sound nice
@tommybanks53076 жыл бұрын
It also means that it doesn't matter how lightly you touch the drums that you've triggered, it will always play the same volume and sound. So you could actually hit them really lightly and get the same sound
@tdogg12816 жыл бұрын
I'm not even going to try. Look up why triggers are really used.

@NegativeTimestream12 жыл бұрын
Actually, drum setup is based in preference. I find it usually easier to reach the cymbals at a slight angle. His left side crash closest to the camera is a bit too high up, as you can see him reaching for it a bit more than the right side one, so he's hitting the edge of the cymbal. Hitting a cymbal direct like that versus using a sweep with your hit hacks up the stick and can crack the cymbal when he's playing all out like that. It's easier to see if you watch a slow-mo cymbal hit.

WHAT KIND OF BELLS ARE THOSE?! It's been driving me crazy! haha. I'm using a combo of a 7 inch LP ice bell on my ride, and an 8 inch meinl customs classic medium bell on my left, and it sounds pretty beast, but your combo sounds quite amazing together. :)

I agree with what you're saying my comment was in response to the guy who said he wasn't that technically talented. I was just saying, even though he is sick in this vid, you can't 100% judge a drummer off the parts he writes in songs

Actually, there hasn't been any quantizing done. I've seen the fan shot videos and the main difference between the video and the live performance is how the live sound was done. With this video, they had taken the raw drum mic feeds and layered them on the video. However, like in the studio, at some points in the video, you can hear electronic drum samples underneath. He is still an extremely talented drummer.
