Mark is like Picasso...of the voice. He paints the music...it is harsh as a bulldozer one moment and then as tender as a baby bird's feather the next. There is no other artist of this caliber alive on earth today as far as I am concerned. His music is moving and powerful...more so than the strongest drug. It is healing and mind-altering.

Beautiful version. Mark is a master. Though his "facts" of the musical are inaccurate:). The song is sung by a young woman who hasn't seen the sun for thirteen years because she now lives with a secret group that lives in a deparment store. Still.... Mark's interpretation is so beautiful...

Mark definitely got the plot mixed up with the "Twilight Zone" episode about a store mannequin temporarily coming to life.

OHHHH how I miss the Balcony! I saw Mark there twice. I also saw him in Miami and we talked. When I mentioned having seen him at the Balcony, he said "Oh mannnn, can you believe they shut that place down??". Astounding artist, and a good man! He is missed.

Francesca Miano .. of course , i wrote that because i met him in Copenhagen after a concert and we went to a bar for a few drinks and the next day he left a message on my answering machine asking if we could meet in town as he needed to buy a camera and an umbrella.. but I was asleep.. same day he left to another city for a gig.. that’s the story..🙏
