Eric was always a funny Bloke. I used to know him before he was really famous, and just a local comedy guy on local Aussie TV. He used to ride his motorbike on Sundays with a bunch of guys I knew, which I recall was a Ducati which he bought from his money from doing stand up. We'd end up at a coffee shop in Elwood that was owned by his relatives. He was just a decent, friendly guy, used to love imitating people and would make us all crack up. He was a bit chubby, but when I saw him on Black Hawk Down, I couldn't believe how fit he was. He's an awesome Dude and I applaud him for his hard work and dedication to his craft. It's good to see him successful and happy.

I was working Security about 2008/2009 and a Taxi pulls up in front of the pub. Three guys get out and the first I see is Jacko, Mark "Jacko" Jackson. He was an Aussie Rules player and Media personality. He also did Energizer adverts. He comes up to me and asks, "Where are the f@cken tits in this town?!". I was on my own as the other boys were on the opposite end of the pub. Across the road was about three or four strip clubs and I knew the Doormen as our company ran the security for them. I said, "This way Jacko, coldest beer and hottest girls in town!". I took the group across the road and led to them to one of the Strip Clubs. As I introduced them to the Doorman, I noticed Chopper, ears, Tatts and all. I asked, "Are you Mister Mark Chopper Read?". Jacko laughed and said "Mister?". Chopper said "Yes.". I held out my hand and said, "Love your work!". He laughed and shook my hand. I said, "If the music gets too loud, come back to the pub and I'll buy you a beer.". Chopper said, "No worries.". About 4 hours later, I'm standing in the same spot with one of my offsiders and Jacko, Chopper and their mate come back to the Pub, drunk as f@ck. Chopper comes up to me, gives me a slap on the back and a hug and says, "Sorry I didn't come for the beer but next time I'm in town, I'll buy YOU a beer!". I said, "All good, Uncle Chop Chop, see you then.". They get in a taxi and drive off. My offsiders jaw is on the ground and he looks at me and says, "That was Chopper Read! Do you know Chopper?". I just shrugged, smiled and walked off. By the end of the week, everyone in the company was convinced I was friends with Chopper! True story.
