Hi mate, what I took from this informative video was the advice you gave, when you mentioned - "don't over tighten these screws, don't go crazy...." This really is invaluable advice because the obvious temptation would be to keep going as long as the screw rotates, but as you point out this is wrong. Also coming from a veteran builder like yourself, we know the advice is sound and we're safe to follow it. Top stuff as always man, hope you had a relaxed weekend.. 🙂👍🏻.

Many thanks dude, yes my weekend was pretty good! I'm chuffed you found the video informative and have faith in my instructions - obviously I do get things wrong occasionally but that's how we learn. Case in point - I did overdo one of those screws and then backed it out as soon as I realised. Hence the warning about it in the video - live and learn my friend! Hope all is going well your end pal! 😎👊👍

Hiya mate. Very nice guide as ever. Does look like a nice solid high quality kit this. These are reasonably expensive but probably worth the cash do you reckon? Hope you are doing ok mate. Sending best wishes to you and yours 👍👍👍

Hi Pete! Thanks mate, it's certainly a lovely kit to build and the quality feels excellent, like the XV01 type plastics. It is a higher end kit but for the price I think it should have bearings and steel propshafts, the plastic ones seem a bit flimsy for the amount of torque that will be going through them! Cheers mate and best wishes to you too! 😎🙏👍

Looking good, you would think on the price of these kits they would start to use metal balls.

Many thanks for the kind words, Alastair. This is a lovely kit to put together and a bit more involved than most Tamias. Ah yes, the Hotshot first run - I've been having a hard time lately my friend, family and health issues slowing my output down, but I will get around to that video, needs a lot of preparation to do a good job of it though! Hey Mark.. My XV-01 came today, I didn't realise it's actually the Pro version with all the hop ups, I thought he'd added them himself. I can't believe the bargain I've got, it's got a Hobbywing 10bl120 sensored ESC & a Reedy Sonic 7.5t motor.. That's £95 for the motor & £45 for the ESC alone.. It's also got a Futaba BLS551 servo, they're around £100.!!! Used they're £60.!! I've never paid more than £20 for a bloody servo mate.! 😂 😂 I usually pay about the same for motors.!! (usually surpass) Anyways, I've just had it out for a run & OH MY WORD.!!! 🤯 😲 🤯 😁😁👍👍 What a special special RC car it is.!! It's sublime, what an amazing experience.! Once again Mark, THANK YOU.! Without your & a couple of other Tamiya focused channels I might never have taken a plunge in the Tamiya pool.. I'm so very glad I did.! Oh.. The best part, it was on Ebay for £200.. I went away to think about it & when I looked again he'd reduced it to £180.!!! It honestly boggles my mind how someone can spend around £500 to build an RC, only use it ONCE & then sell it for a fraction of the price.! I've seen XV-01 Pros with similar specs sell for over £400.!!.. I'm definitely keeping this one though.! 😉 😉 Please stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍

Hi Alan and great to read you again! Wow what a bargain the XV01 turned out to be, you lucky chap! That's one hell of a setup it came with. But the best bit to read was how chuffed you are with the driving experience, but then I just knew you'd love it! I'm really pleased for you and also pleased that I was maybe a small part of your new Tamiya journey. Oh yes, this rally car is definitely a keeper! I hope you get many years of enjoyment from it. Stay safe too mate and all the best from this Tamiya fan in the Midlands! 😎🙏🦫👌🏁👍

You're definitely making your way through the genres in Tamiya build experience, Mark! Looks great, even the weird quirky stuff! It might not be an SCX10 or something fancy, but I do believe the CC-02 is a capable trailtruck/crawler! I would probably lock front diff also, but can always be done later, he he... I'm still on hold with my own CC-02 project, just too much other stuff to do, he he...

Oh yes Mads, definitely going through the Tamiya genres, and good fun it is to experience the different qualities of each kit. This does go together nicely and has some quirks as you say, but it all kinda makes sense! I think it will be quite capable out on the trails, too. Plenty of time for your own CC02 project mate, just don't leave it until you are a pensioner like me!!! 😅👊👍

Hi, So a locked diff in the back and open in front ? Always a great build guide 👍👍 Well that was an interesting F1 race, not what i had in mind when it started 🤦‍♀ G. Russell managed to hold on to win on his worn out tyres. It looks like Red Bulls already miss Adrian Newey 😮

Hi Are, yes mate, locked rear and open front as it says in the manual for "slippery conditions"!!! 😅 Oh yes the F1, same here, not as expected! Fair play to George though. Hmmm... yep with Adrian gone things are looking very different at RBR, aren't they? All the best! 😎👍

Bonjour, j’ai trouvé ce que je cherchais !!! maintenant comment choisir entre bloquer le différentiel avant ou arrière ?? merci Mark
@MarkBryanRC
@MarkBryanRC 9 күн бұрын
Bonjour! Good that you found what you wanted! I locked the rear diff and left the front open. It drives very well and steers quickly due to the open front diff. However, if you want to try slow crawling on very loose or slippery surfaces, the front wheels will lose traction. When even 1 wheel starts to spin the truck will get stuck. By locking the front and rear diffs the truck will be much more capable in loose and slippery terrain but steering is reduced and the front transmission is subjected to much higher loads and will wear out faster. It's a trade-off really. The best way to choose which diff to lock or leave open is to try it and see! Have fun!
