Even if his asinine “excuse” was legit, it was still a giant red flag and still way beyond unacceptable. He apologized, took full responsibility for his behavior and explained the situation. I don't see how this one slip up defines who he is. Regarding your point #2, I agree totally. I'm pretty sure that none of those people have ever been in a relationship -- or at least not a good one. I've been married for 23 years (in a couple of weeks). At times, I've been an asshole to my wife. At times, she's been an asshole to me. At times, we've both thought "why the hell am I with this person?" But those times are always fleeting, and you honestly and sincerely apologize and move on. Was the boyfriend wrong? Yeah, obviously, and he admitted it, explained the situation, and apologized. His explanation makes sense -- keeping in mind that he'd just seen a situation between two couples, and was in a bad headspace. For every idiot on that thread saying "you've only been dating him for a month", remember... he's only been dating HER for a month, too, and was wondering if maybe she was ultra-controlling person who wanted him and his friends under her thumb (which is an easy mindset to get into given the strip club issue. Keep in mind that the guys in that situation were wrong, but who goes to the strip club and throws a fit, causing the entire bachelor party to get shut down?)

Infact that law is as far as I am aware, the case in large parts of the world. Also as he was drunk, it's not a good appearance for OP with her boss having drunks in the VIP area. Story 1 Take Rebecca to a therapist.
@amandacalder60072 жыл бұрын
@Gi Gi It’s possible that maybe a therapist will be able to explain the situation better while also helping her see that none of it is her fault. I saw one when I was a kid for an event that happened and she was helpful in explaining that nothing that was going on was my fault and would talk with me all while playing a game or coloring a picture so that it was helpful but also comfortable and I could speak freely about how I felt without worrying about hurting anyone’s feelings, it made me feel a lot better. Also sometimes parents have trouble finding the right words to say and in this situation all the adults are angry and she is caught in the middle, having that safe space and an impartial ear might be helpful to let her express her own feelings.

@Gi Gi wait which story are we talking about? Rebecca was the name of the 10 yr old daughter in the title story were we not referring to that one?

Story 2 feels wrong even after the update i have cheater vibes from all the guys including the boyfriend sure his response sounds natural not wanting interruption to his day with friends but you don't blow up that badly he was likely cheating and didn't want to be caught

He is just like his friends. If you really don't like your SO's friends, especially their best friend, you need to look at that, because they likely have the same moral compass, or lack of one. Your SO is just hiding his behavior better.

Story 1: I feel like we're missing information between the wife and sister. There's a reason she hates her. It doesn't come from nothing. The wife probably sucks, but that is just me speaking from my own experience.

I have had some experience with my siblings having awful SOs too. However, there isn’t always a good reason sometimes family members just don’t approve or like their relatives SOs. There are lots of stories about it where they just don’t like them or want them with another specific person or they don’t agree with things like lifestyle,looks,views, job..etc. There are some who do have good reasons but it sounded like only the sister had an issue and the family shrugged her behavior off. No one tells a child to their face that their mom abandoned them when really she only went to go see her dying father.
@c.d.43192 жыл бұрын
@@amandacalder6007 I'm not saying that the child should have been told that her mother abandoned her, but I still feel like op was painting his wife in the best light possible while putting his sister down. No one has to agree with me, but seriously, who is going to say the wife is a ah when she's off caring for her dying father? He couldn't have drawn a sharper contrast if he tried. "My wife is a saint. My sister's the devil.. a-am I the ah?" 🥺

Story 1 ESH. Not for going no contact with the sister, but by acting in such a way with the 10 year old that she probably thinks it's her fault when it's anything of the sort. OP handled it in an extremely poor way when it came to talking to his daughter.
@PrincessLioness2 жыл бұрын
That’s what I thought as well, but op said they explained it (simplified for children) to their daughter, but their relationship was strong. As the commenters said op should have never allowed them to bond, so this wouldn’t have happened.
@jessicadias50142 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessLioness This has the potential to turn really bad when the daughter turns 18. I hope this doesn't come back to bite OP and his wife.
@PrincessLioness2 жыл бұрын
@@jessicadias5014 Agreed. But op said they are going yo give more details when she gets older, so I hope that doesn’t happen.

That rebellious rocker persona is so annoying where they shun everything nice because it's something they don't normally have "If we wanted to be boring VIPs"... seriously? grow up and take some initiative and don't throw away a good thing.
