His "reasons" were all bullshit. Being stressed, scared, etc are all things that will happen many times in life, and during their marriage if they were married. He cheated because he wanted to, plain and simple. My response to stress is to suspend reality for a bit with a good book/movie/video game, playing with my cat, and or going for a walk or bike ride if I need to move. Maybe cleaning up the house a bit or go window shopping. Lots of other things that DON'T involve being naked with anyone who isn't my partner. That advice about not asking "why" is fantastic, much better than I could've said it, lol. Those of us who are not cheaters will never understand the mindset of those who are. OP, you are a good person, and your ex is not. The only "satisfactory" answer you will ever have, is that he is just a horrible person who never deserved you. I know this situation is painful, but you will be grateful you found this out before the wedding instead of after, and before you had kids together.

I get feeling guilty, but these are the consequences of his own actions. The accident is just an unfortunate situation that has nothing to do with why he cheated or why you are leaving him. For the cheating fiance, she just needs to tell the family that the fact that they ALL knew of his sin and they didn't convince him to confess makes them ALL CULPABLE IN HIS SIN! Tell the religious mother that she won't marry into a family of manipulating sinners. The fact that the mom says that she regrets telling her makes her even more the sinner than her son. I was both astonished and proud. When it first started I offered to work out with her and help with nutrition, but she responded without much enthusiasm, so I just supported her as best I could and encouraged her when it wouldn’t come off as nagging. It is difficult when a spouse gains a massive amount of weight. It’s not something that should just be ignored. But it should NEVER be mocked or treated with malice. Story 2: if he's gonna cheat because of 'stress' then he absolutely cannot be trusted. Life isn't a picnic and you're gonna find ants sooner or later. Plus he cheated with his EX! That wasn't a spur of the moment thing! 'OH we just happen to meet up...' BS shouldn't fly with anyone. You don't 'just happen' to casually meet up with an EX and 'just happen' to sleep together. That was a conscious decision on his part. And worst part is he didn't confess to you, he confessed to his family, making them his conspirators into keeping his dirty little secret. AND THEY WERE GONNA KEEP IT! The only reason why his mom told you was because she was worried for her poor baby boy's immortal soul. (Also a side note not related, it's not a genuine apology if someone has to apologize on someone's behalf!) And keep note, she didn't tell him that she told you either. This tells you this family only cares about image and not rocking the boat in order to maintain peace. And if you did decide to stay with him, and he cheated AGAIN, the family will know and you won't, because they're on their boy's side. I wouldn't be surprised if they even cover for him on these little rendezvous. Sadly there is no 'good reason' anyone has for cheating. And whatever answer or excuse they give is gonna hurt you even more. They just cheated, they just showed how little they cared about you and respect you, and you have to accept that and cut that person out of your life. And you need to tell people, who think that there's still a chance of reconciliation, to butt out and tell them no, there is not chance. In fact turn that around them and ask 'will you give (spouse/girl/boyfriend) a chance if they cheated on you?'.

Story 4: bet the MIL is also staying with a cheater , thats the only reason that came to my head on why she's okay with that cuz she was okay staying and all women should do the same

Okay but 40 pounds isn't even a lot if she was very athletic before. Thats maybe 1 or 2 sizes up for her. The fact he said he was disgusted by her..I just cant even imagine how those people get old with each other? Like is that all that matters for his relationship?

Even if it was a lot, it's a disgusting thing to do to someone you claim to love and it says far more about him than it does about her.

40 lbs is a lot especially its changes woman’s body. I gained 20 lbs and it’s changed my appearance.

I think this is a height discussion. taller people can hide weight more then shorter people. 5,3 vs 5,10. 10 to 20 pounds on me is nothing but 40 is fluffy, I'm 5,9 people put my weight at 160-180(I wish) I'm 215, I was 225 am and working on getting down to 160 to look healthy.

I hope I NEVER have sex with anyone who was horrid enough to cheat on me with someone who cheated on him. To sleep with someone that insecure, someone who called me a white whale...I wouldn't be able to wash the filth off. Hell my life is filled with enough "regrets" lmfao. All the power to her though.

He's lying to BOTH of you. Shame on him. What he has said and taking pictures is unforgivable. OP is doing the right thing. Run!

I was kinda hoping from the title that by 'white whale' he meant some stupid moby dick 'I can't stop chasing you' thing. But clearly not. It doesn't matter if she was so heavy she couldn't even get out of bed... everyone deserves respect and love from their SO. Or at least compassion in the form of honesty and support.
