Doing a presentation on marketing with zero budget, and leveraging it to promote your game (Descenders) to hundreds of thousands of gamers for free. That's just brilliant. I like this guy.

The Question for anyone who is wondering. The question was "Discord works well for games with strategy games or call up(Unsure what that means), but we don't really have a demo or anything, so I don't know what to do with my Discord."

Ha, worst case scenario plan. I'm in worst case scenario. Either nothing changes if I make $0 or I find some sort of success. Hoping next year will be different. I love these talks, really gets my hopes up that I have a lot to actively do to reduce risk

It was a good question and he answered it correctly. Yeah the accent was heavy, but then I lived in Malaysia for almost a decade so I understood it. Not sure how much that had to do with it though, a second listen should suffice for most but this guy is good for getting it right away.

This dude is reading my mind - I hate this particular word combo - procedural generation. It was so overused and so lazily overused, I literally prayed about this to end. Thank you Mike, for me you are legend now.

If you had unlimited resources to spend on marketing, how would you do so? Who do you contact? Who do you pay? How do you know you got what you paid for?
@nadavrot5 жыл бұрын
You would contact a PR or marketing firm that has had good results with promoting video games and you would let them handle marketing for you.

at 20 minutes where he talks about reaching out to relevant entities to get something to work, but doesn't expound on what those are is a tad unfortunate

thats just business engagement ig. it feels so slimy but the fact is that consumers have very short term memory when it comes to products you're less than ecstatic about. if your product has good hype just by sheer fact of existence then you dont need those tactics
