Kyle, congratulations on your award! Need to fix the O2 sensor angle. They are angled down and will collect moisture and can fail quickly. Need to be between 280-80 degrees or 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock. But if you’re having that much fun, who cares!

I had the exact same issue on my 1995. And I bought headers that were supposed to be for my car with separate tubes that slid into the collector and got welded later. Supposed to make installation easier. Nope! So I am also swapping in a tubular K member which will hopefully give more room for headers. Trim up that old X pipe and put it back in or a simple H pipe and it will likely sound better.
@rossracingtv687916 күн бұрын
Kyle, I have a Cleveland in my 93 and I have 2” pipes down to the collector. I had them on with the stock k member for a while but you have to remove the starter and steering shaft and raise the motor quite a bit to get them in. Also put the passenger side in first

2" primarys?? cot dang unless your making 1500+ hp ain't no need for all that. If you drop down to 1-7/8" or even 1-5/8" primary tubes you will pick up a ton of bottom end torque and street drivability will go way up as well.

Congrats on the 30 under 30 award Kyle 👍🏁 Gotta have the O2s but I've never liked straight pipes. Nope, not even in the early 70s when I first swapped a 302 Ford into my Toyota Hi-Lux. And back in those days the Corvair turbo mufflers were the best option we had for both flow and deep thoroughly sound.

The sudden film cuts to the hammering cracked me up, feel your pain though. Header installs never seem to go that smooth. I'm surprised you guys don't have one of those engine hangers that sit on the sides of the engine bay, they're so good for lifting a motor for that kind of thing, and then you don't have to be up and down a ladder all the time. Good vid, thanks for your work

This reminds me of putting headers on small block Camaro....they don't go in easily. But with a Big Block they just drop in....obviously a better design. I had a 95 Mustang new that ran well after throwing the valve springs and heavy ass valve rotators in the garbage and adding 1.7 roller rockers. A little airbox opening and MAF blending and that little car ran pretty strong to the 6250 fuel cut.

My 95 has the factory exhaust with all 4 cats gutted and no mufflers and necks up to 3" straight cut the last foot or so and it sounds sexy AF and it is loud but it's not crazy loud, I drive by cops all the time without a problem but man don't it sound sweet. Lol a K-member is a package deal if I install long tubes on a 2-valve in that year stang. Built one with the 2-valve about 10 years ago, (manual) a small T-trim compressor that on the street tune., it made 664 to the tires and never got a number with it turned up? We were out of fuel pump and he wanted set up for pump gas . I put a bigger pump on it but he never took it to the dyno again. He still drives to work once a week.

@jtcoker268416 күн бұрын
I got BBK long tubes to fit on mine with the factory k member. Had to rock the motor over for each side. I think you could put the passenger side header on from the bottom, with a lift. Then changed to qa1 k member and a arms, much better. Put hooker competition headers,2”, on it and it lost 3 tenths at the track, so put the bbk headers back.

What's the engine and build?
@jtcoker268416 күн бұрын
@@Berm_BlasterI have a couple but the one I was referring too is a 88 mustang gt. It had a .040 over 302 with a c4 with a transbrake to start with. Then went to 347, but used the same headers. Now it has a dart block 427 with sc1/Yates heads and a powerglide. I took 2 sets nascar tri Y headers and made the headers I have now. Had to cut them up and build to fit. It has evolved over the years, from running 7.50 all the way to 4.60s with the current combo. I would love to change to turbos but nitrous is gonna have to do for now.

I'm sitting here laughing and remembering my maverick from years ago, I had a 302 maverick and a set of edelbrock performer rpm heads the 1.94/150 no heat riser version, and my headers and the moved sparkplugs on the heads... From all accounts the passenger side was as bad if not worst then a factory 305 monzass getting to the drivers side sparkplugs and headers... It was a 3-4 hour job just on the passenger side to change the plugs.
