If you don’t want the coin machine on a timer get a smart plug. If someone calls saying it does not work you can reset it remotely.

Buy a can of air and blow out the bill acceptor as well as the dryer coin drop slots. Simetimes just a little lint will make the change machine not recognize the bill

Make sure you open the front load washer doors and put signs everywhere for people to leave the doors open. They get moldy and smelly if the doors are closed.

There is a saying like Morton Salt "when it rains it pours". That little laundrymat needs some TLC. Strange that the change machine, the soap machine, the front door, are all breaking at the same time. I know when a old car gives a person too much trouble, it maybe time to replace it. I hope you xan get it up and running so you can make a profit.

I don't understand why you don't have a key to the auto lock. I would also recommend Schlage for these types of locks.

Isn't a Revolution Laundry machine much more interesting for for these small laundromats? U can turn the place into an appartment, everything is there already( elec, water...). Just put the revolution machine in your carwash bay.

Spring and fall cleaning and the holidays would be when people use a laundromat the most. Summer with light clothes, not so much.

I'd get those 2 big dryers replaced ASAP and see if the dryers here are too cheap like your other laundromat. And I agree with the other commenters about seeing what a small slab would cost to put in a 50lb. machine. :)

Maybe enclose the car wash and put a few bigger washers back there? Add windows and cameras so women wouldn’t feel unsafe (I know you said there is a police station next door, but still).

on the outlet the change machine is plugged into....i would use a decent surge protector in case that is causing the issue (if you're not using a surge protector already).

I had to take out the key fob on my front door becase. Of this reason. Its so annoying. I rather have a normal lock and key.

I think having a part time attendant for a few hours at the end of the day would help sweeping the floor cleaning the machines making sure everything works and is ready for the next day that way you can be notified immediately if there is anything wrong plus having someone there at night people would feel safe going in at night alone to do wash

Most of the laundromats I visit have credit card readers on the machines. So if no quarters can use a card. Although would be cost prohibitive with this location.

If you connect the change machine to a timer, it should be set for no more than a minute or so, off/on. You will have to reset the time on it after multiple power outages as it will eventually be turning off/on during business hours.

You can switch the coin box on the locks, simple 4 screws. Ran multiple coin ops for 30+ years. Would not go card reader, too many problems and added costs. For Your bill acceptor, you can buy cleaning bills that you stuck in the acceptor tray and they will wipe the eyes, belts, etc. clean.

The sensor for sold out must not be working. I noticed there are several buttons on the inside numbered 9, 11 and one may reset the machine's computer?

I figured it was a slab floor !!I must have missed some episodes a while back so I will go and see when you bought it !! I always end up chuckling when you stop by this place for an update. It's always something :-) I would love to know what happened for your door lock system to lock you (and your customers) out. In my experience the coin changing machines and soap dispensers fail on a regular basis, so I never trusted them and always brought my own quarters and supplies. I apologize for having so much fun at your expense LOL!

I love looking forward to the weekly updates from this cute little laundromat. I do have a suggestion with regards to the Speed Queen toploader. I'm wondering if it is programmed for the default cycle from the factory. If it is, that particular model will NOT use hot water even when it is selected to meet the energy requirements. It also only will do a spray rinse, both of which might give you complaints. I'm not sure the exact way but in the programming there is a setting you can select where it will operate normally, with a full tub rinse and hot wash water.

Heard a recent podcast about Neighbor App for storage units. The old car wash bays should be converted over. The machine room for the car wash equipment should be cleared out. The App would be perfect.

Perfect size and layout to take out all machines and just add stack washer with dryer on top. I’d start with 3 30lb and 2 50lb and add as needed. Put folding and seating where washers are now.

If your wood floor has a crawl space then you can tear the floor out and build a support of steel and concrete where you want to put in the large washer (like a pedestal). Much cheaper than replacing the entire floor.
