Great to see the 3do up and running mark, I didn't know about the memory, will have to get hold of that disc I don't have it. Syndicate is a classic, hopefully I will have more look burning 3do software than I had with CD32 game's.

That was super interesting. Thanks for bringing a 3do back to life.

I never imagined the 3do had decent looking games,you almost always only hear about its demise.Great series of videos,cheers.

Thank you for watching. The 3DO had some very decent titles, but also more than it'S share of shovelware.

Great video Mark I was hoping you would remove the battery ive got a similar button battery in my 486 does this type of battery need to be desoldered?
@MarkFixesStuff5 жыл бұрын
I tested this batter with a meter and it was still giving a solid 2.8v so is OK. Anywhere under about 2.4v you should change the battery.

Nice one Mark, loved the capacitor info and obviously its great its all working perfectly, which also leads me nicely into asking this question.... I have 2 3DOs, but one of them fails to load burned discs, but has absolutely no problems playing original CD Roms? Any idea why that might be?

Mine powers on, the green light works when I power on, but the red light does not. When using the AV cables the TV screen appears to change from the usual “no signal” screen. And yet its still nothing on the TV. The Disc Tray also wont open. Any suggestions? I did exactly how you did to take it off. The capacitors looked a little bit better than yours did.

1:24 old capacitor - 6800uF / 25V 105 ° C new capacitor - 6800uF / 25V 85 ° C not good at all Admittedly, the heat sink next to which these capacitors were does not heat up very much, but the manufacturer, for some reason, used 105 ° C rated capacitors. If you repair something, always use better or at least identical components. NVM, good job (except one small mistake).
@MarkFixesStuff5 жыл бұрын
Argh, I was hoping no one would notice that! Good spot. I went back and replaced that one when I had 105°C parts back in stock. I get impatient sometimes to get the videos done. Thanks for your kind comments and thanks for watching. :)
@andreasmaltcke1175 жыл бұрын
@@MarkFixesStuff "I was hoping" No way! There will always be someone who notices the mistake. I repaired TV-s (and other electronic equipment) for almost 20 years, so I saw that you installed the "inappropriate" capacitor. Which BTW works the same as "proper", it has only a lower operating temperature. THX (googletranslate, sorry)

Having problems with my sexy 3d0, that it does blow the fuse everytime. To much of current but how to fix? Anyone? :)
@MarkFixesStuff5 жыл бұрын
First thing is to change the capacitors. They are known to be bad on these. Every single one I have seen. One of these blew the fuse for me too. When the capacitors are changed then we can troubleshoot further.
