Magnificent mark and as I've said all along, i agree with you that the first spawning was the greatest success and you are in line to make 2020 a hard year to beat with that male gin rin kohaku and your newly acquired goshiki. Well done mate this year you have started a new chapter in the Mark Gardner history book and i believe it's only going to get better. I think it will be 2021 before im ready to try my hand at breeding koi as i need to put another year on my prospective female (beni kikokuryu). I look forward to further developments. Congratulations once again 👏

Never seen or heard of so many fry with dorsal fin deformities, makes you wonder if it could have been environmental. Love the single coloured fingerlings from the first spawning which seem to have great lustre and would happily have one of the silver ones in my pond. They remind me of Kase metallics.

Who was the breeder of the ginrin kohaku you show near the end of your video? I've really enjoyed your channel, both the Purdin videos plus your 2019 breeding program. Many thanks!

I was wondering the other day where you were with you fish. Probably color change due to temp change. Some of mine are changing with the new season. I remember in the beginning you had some ammonia problems. Do you think the dorsal fins could have been from ammonia burns? Some of those fish in the video are amazing.
@MarkGardnerNTVfree5 жыл бұрын
Cape Fear Koi ammonia problem first spawning. Everything in warm water, no question Beni Kikokiryu are affected by cold water, particularly sumi. The parents outside are changing.

Just wondering how big the parents were, looks like the small male was 2 year old maybe ? How big was the females and the male please.
@MarkGardnerNTVfree5 жыл бұрын
The male was indeed nisai. The female was sold as 2 year old, but I suspect 3 year old, around 47-48cm.
