I’ve always tried so sooooo hard to make people understand that Allah isn’t “God of muslims” that it just means god in Arabic and that Christians in the Middle East use the word Allah like Muslims but no one seems to understand 😂😂 So THANK YOU for this video

Yes both languages have similarities that doesn't mean Arabic came from Aramaic. I also agree Allah is not just for Muslims. We never claimed this. Allah is the God of Jews, Christians and Muslims after all we're all children of Adam.

Exactly im trying to say people are ignorant they don't want to understand the true meaning of the word, i was tryin to explain it to someone, on a post it was something kinda offensive but it was "they are waiting for allah to get them" whatever it was, i told him that im arabic and Christian and i say "allah", i told the word itself means "Allah" and its just the same thing and he still says "no allah is for muslims, god is for Christians" like wtf i had to tell him the word itself means that and he is still ignorant

In Costa Rica, Central America, we use to say "Mashala, mashala" in time we nock on wood. Meaning like: "God help us" or "God protect us"

I'm a white dude in Hawaii, but my dear friend Nibras is a devout Shia Iraqi. After many years of friendship with her, I picked up saying "Ya Allah" to myself in the same way I'd say OMG. ..or inshallah the same way I'd say "God help me". At first I started using them just to joke with her, but they eventually stuck. Those phrases are so baked into the fabric of language and God is such a powerful concept, that even non religious people like me still use them. I love how you mentioned the similarities between Arabic and western use of "God".

In Malaysia the Malay Language (Bahasa Melayu), there is the expression "Alamak", not to be confused with "Allah maak", it is one word instead of two although they sound really similar when pronounce quickly. It means something like oops, and is mainly used when you did something unintentionally. e.g. Alamak I forgot to take my phone with me / Alamak I did not know you dislike spicy food!

"Alamak" might be originated from Japan's "Aramak", which is used the same way as Malay version and even have the same meaning. Even the tone and way to pronounce it is the same, except their language lacked the genuine "L" sound.

Also, something that people may not know: "olé" is also used in Portuguese (maybe more in Portugal than elsewhere, like in Brazil or other Portuguese-speaking countries) in the same context than in Spanish, as Portugal was also under Moorish rule for centuries. :D

الله مع دواليبك allah maa' dwalibak May God be with your tires (We say it to someone when we don't care whether or not they stay) الله لا يعطيك العافية Allah la yaatik l'aafieh May God never give you health (When someone does sth wrong) الله يساعدني عليك Allah ysa'eedne 'alek May God help me with you (When someone is very annoying, stupid, or a wrongdoer and you feel like you need God's help to deal with him) الله لا يصدقني Allah la ysade'ne May God never believe me (When someone says a flagrant lie, we use to show that we don't believe them) الله لا يخليني إذا... Allah la ykhaline eza... May God never keep me alive if... (Used to say, that if we don't do sth specific, we wish God to not keep us alive, to show that we're bent upon it so much, usually used for threats) الله وكيلك Allah wakilak God is your helper, or adovate, or sth similar (We add it after telling someone abound sth unpleasant that's happening)

In Malaysia, we say ‘Allah Mak!’ to show surprise at something not so welcome, like when when you forget to carry your driving licence as you approach a police road block: “Allah Mak I left my driving licence at home!” Come to think of it, it might be an ‘adulterated’ version of the Arabic ‘Allah Ma’ak’ ( الله معك). As South Asian Muslims, I believe we have a few more phrases that are not commonly used by Arabs.اللہ حافظ with we use lnstead of فی امان الله and اللہ معك. and اللہ کریم which is used express that Allah will make it easy. and other Urdu phrases like اللہ خیر کرے that means May Allah have mercy on us. اللہ کا کرم ہے it means its the blessings of Allah
