On a trip down to Florida in January, I decided to fly the mountain bike south to check out what the Sunshine State's mountain bike trails are all about. I was able to squeeze in two days of riding while we were there. First day of riding consisted of Balm Boyette and Alafia River State Park. The second day we drove east across Florida to Sunrise, just outside Fort Lauderdale to ride Markham Park. We rented a Scott Spark for my girlfriend and we rode right from Alex's Bicycle Pro Shop. Markham Park exceeded my expectations and was packed full of so much variety. This place contains a skills park, jump line, dirt jumps, asphalt pump track, and all around great trails. Favorite trails include Area 51, Gun Range, and Yo Mamma. Even without mountains, the trail builders make excellent use of the terrain. There is plenty of features inside this tropical landscape to keep riders of all experience levels, from beginner to advanced, coming back for more. Both she and I had an awesome time. It was the best of both worlds enjoying beautiful trails with the girlfriend while having a blast riding every feature I could find. I like to do a little research before I ride somewhere new to help make the most of my ride, and I hope my videos can help others do the same. Really enjoyed riding in Florida and would love to do it again soon. Like, comment, subscribe if you enjoy this content. More importantly enjoy the ride!
