my father suffered from a horrible head injury which cost him his short term memory. I would be his address and telephone book or remind him how to get to places. he called me his girl Friday. hes better now and I'm glad I'm happy that she has a bf who loves her and supports her. it makes all the difference
@Mojo18007 жыл бұрын
I've been here trying to decode this for like ten minutes now, "hes better now and I'm glad I'm happy that SHE has a bf who loves HER and supports HER." Yet you were using "he" this whole time to describe your father, we talked about two people in this paragraph, your father and you, so, that means you are referring to one of those two people, if you're referring to your dad in the last sentence my best guess is he's either gay, a shemale, or you're referring to his girlfriend which wouldn't make sense because everything prior only mentioned two people and to bring in a third without outright stating doesn't make sense. OR, you're referring to yourself in third person which wouldn't make sense because, for 1, you don't do that, and 2, you started the sentence talking about your dad. Also, "I would be his address and telephone book OR remind him how to get to places, so you never do both? "Dad, I showed you how to get to McDonalds today, I can't 'be' your telephone book today." is all I can imagine reading that. Clarification, please?

I’m also happy she has such a nice boyfriend. What’s sad though is if he ever wanted to marry her, she probably wouldn’t remember it, they’d have to show her the tale of it to assure her she is married to him. But it’s nice that, he is so committed to her.

I am currently recovering from a concussion, and, though I have not totally lost my short-term memory and some days it is good, I struggle with it. A couple of months ago, I had my yearly job review. Five minutes after it happened, I had some vague ideas about what we just talked about, but it was hard to recapitulate the conversation. About two or three hours later, most of it came back to me like it had just happened. The process is called "consolidation," which takes a little longer now.

I think that through repetition, short term memory gaps can be overcome - esp those resulting from strokes. The repetition can act as a form of rehabilitation and can help form new long-term memories. The short term span is still affected - that can mean different amounts of time, from a few minutes to a few hours - overcoming that span through repetition can help to overcome the memory loss. At least, that was my experience after my grandfather's stroke, and some of the info the Dr gave us.

Manly tears? Just cry. It's ok. Emotions are not a weakness, or something to be ashamed of. Crying because something touched your heart is the most powerful gift you can give. It shows the one thing that all people, regardless of creed, race, or religion crave. Empathy
