The guy afraid of dying at 27 is a reference to the fact that a statistically improbable number of musicians die at 27. Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and a number of others.

the most interesting part is the similarities with a lot of those who died at 27, which created the interesting part about the 27 club. its referenced in the game, with the whole "Famephobe" (or whatever it said) too, as they were all very popular at the time they died, and mostly hated that they were- they hated fame, and died at the time they were most relevant. i believe most in the 27 club also died in some self inflicted way, whether intentional or not- Like Amy Winehouse with alcohol poisoning, or Janis Joplin with an OD. i find the 27 club thing very fascinating, which is why i checked to see if anyone had made a comment about it.

Hey Mark, as someone who has played through the entire game, I have a few tips to make things easier for you. 1. You don’t need to target the insanity thing first in line, so you should instead try to knock off a few singles in order to create sequences of max three that you can then get rid of in one take. 2. Since you get paid more for treating insane patients, I would recommend reading the descriptions of the available patients in order to find the one that seems the most insane. 3. You should absolutely develop all the insanity machines instead of using the default one, it’ll make things much easier for you late game (the more you progress, the more insanity patients have). 4. If you accidentally delete a patient’s personality (which I’ve done countless times), you don’t need to alt F4, instead you can just go to the menu and rewind to any previous day, which is also useful for achieving different endings based on single decisions. 5. Pay attention to your actions and how it might affect the story. Much like in Papers Please, you either choose to help the resistance group, or work strictly for the government, so make sure not to ignore Moonrise or help the Structure if you’re trying to get the Moonrise ending (the opposite goes for trying to get the Structure ending) Love your vids, hope this helped!

@bird_with_knives
@bird_with_knives 3 жыл бұрын
Ay, good tips! Do you know how many endings are there actually in this game? I've completed it only once with Moonrise ending (or at least one of them if there's several types of them), so I wonder if there are ways to get something else beside obvious helping The Structure. I thought of something like good ol' "Genocide run" where you erase everyone's personalities (I'm mostly excited to do this because about half of optional gadgets are based on completely erasing personality in one use), but there's a problem with that right off the start - you cannot actually erase personalities of like first 2-3 people cuz of a simple lack of the amount of insanities to cure. And to buy gadgets that erase it you have to gather enough science to unlock them, which is impossible in early game obviously.
@edgartiblom2281
@edgartiblom2281 3 жыл бұрын
@@bird_with_knives I’ve played the game twice so far (on easy and medium), and I think there’s a total of 7 or 8 endings? I’ve gotten five already, however most of them are achieved from simply doing different choices during the actual ending. I’m pretty sure there’s only two “paths” (Moonrise and Structure), but there’s many different outcomes for each path that lead to slightly different endings. SPOILER: During the Moonrise ending, I think there’s three different outcomes. You can complete the entire mission without giving up, which leads to one of the good endings, or you can bail at the start of the day and choose not to participate in the revolution, or you can bail during the mission when escaping with your daughter. Each choice leads to a different ending, however I’m not sure how many outcomes there are in total because unfortunately no one has created a wiki yet and mapped out all the events :/ (like in Papers Please)

@@innertuber4049: Yes, Mark explained that he generally avoids comments and chat when playing a game because he prefers figuring things out on his own. It's more fun for him that way, even if it means that he won't figure out everything, or that he might miss out on things.

@@Husitka I understand that, but sometimes there are things in games without a tutorial, that you still kinda need in order to play it. Specifically the part about being able to do them out of order, in this case. In Minecraft, he eventually went and looked stuff up, but at that point, why not just look to the comments for info anyway? Some are spoilery and ruin the experience, but most of the ones I see are like this one, and understand how not to ruin the experience. I guess what I'm saying is, I like how this comment went about instructing him, and would be happy if he happened to see it while reading comments (because I know he does).

If only machines existed to treat people instead of help only being voluntary. That way, everyone can get treated regardless of whether they want the help or not. People who don’t want help but continue to live just makes everyone else’s lives harder. Tbh a lot of the people’s scenarios in this game seem to stem from other factors that could be addressed. It’s just dumb when people aren’t even going to try and help themselves and just expect others to fix their problems for them. Man, I just realized, talking like this, I’m no different than the people in the game which have to be marked insane or sane. It makes me mad that people who suffer from others have to be “treated” and the people who were being terrible from not wanting help just keep going on with their behaviours and end up causing more harm than good to everyone else. Maybe I shouldn’t watch this gameplay anymore. It’s just making me angry that a thing like this doesn’t actually exist to be able to help people. Even if I get my mind “fixed” I’ll just end up like that Bert guy who missed his “little friend”. I’d still have to suffer with the pain of what I have lost even if my anger is still taken away. Maybe some people don’t deserve to be fixed by the machine. Cuz thinking about the person who hurt me, even if they got “fixed” they’d still have the pain that they had used as an excuse to hurt others with. Idk. Maybe that’s why this sort of game exists. There is no clear answer to this thing as much as I hope there would be. If we could cleanse the world of evil thoughts just from curing mental disorders and personality disorders, then we’d be in such a happier place. To do so without destroying the main personality of a person too, would be a plus for sure. But when a mental illness becomes so closely intertwined with that of your personality, would it not technically be taking away that person’s personality to get rid of the mental illness? Or maybe it wouldn’t necessarily mean that but to that person, it would probably feel like an emptiness to have your mental illnesses be taken away all at once. Anyway, thanks for listening to my Ted talk. Have a good day.

@@TT35109 i think you’re thinking of the world too much in black & white. yes, we don’t live in a video game where we can get rid of the mental illness while still salvaging the personality, but any good treatment will teach a person how to *live* with it, how to deal with it. it’s not easy by any means. but the one and only treatment for the mind isn’t “taking away the mental illness.” i would also disagree with your idea that some people don’t deserve to be “fixed.” that is, if we are talking about treating the person and the mind, not just the “illness,” which i feel like you might be separating in your mind. for example, a person with npd seeking treatment may not result in “their npd being taken away” or “curing them of npd.” it is addressing whatever manifests *from* their npd, like shaping a healthier mindset, self-reflecting and dissecting their problems, cognitive behavioural therapy, etc. none of those are literally taking away the npd, it’s just learning to live with it and to keep it in check. a person can change for the better when they seek help; they won’t always be stuck as the same “bad person” for the rest of their lives. running with the same example: there are self-aware narcissists that receive treatment to become a better person, for themselves and others. when you talk about people who have done terrible things, don’t seek treatment and go on with that behaviour in the world, there is not much to be done about that (unless it’s really extreme and they need to be sent away). people can only really help themselves, and it’s up to them if they want to get better

I agree. Nowadays, it feels as though mental illnesses are both, more accepted/understood, but also glorified. Everyone seems to be depressed, and/or anxious and/or have self-image issues etc. and yet nothing is done about it. Being mentally ill doesn't mean the world should just cater to you and accept your issues, it means you need help and support so that you can feel better in the end.

Mike Zippota is referencing the 27 Club, a collection of musicians such as Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix all dying at age 27, and I bet his surname is a nod to the White Lighter urban legend, a mostly not true tale that all these musicians had a white lighter on them at the time of their death. Hey Mark! A piece of advice: You don't have to destroy insanity thingies strictly from left to right. You could go for those that in the middle or even for those that at the far right. Basically you could eliminate symbols in any order. That could be helpful to make three in a row combos. You could consider the game as a somewhat more complex, but 1D Candy Crush
