@@chamathangelo9495 the answer is in the codex entries across both Doom (2016) & Eternal. Tldr Doomslayer is the OG Doomguy. After Doom 64 Doomguy stayed in hell to keep the Demons from invading Earth. Eventually he was taken in by the Knight Sentinels and was blessed by the seraphim turning him into a demigod. Eventually he was betrayed and trapped in hell with his army, they all died but he kept fighting until the demons dropped a mountain on him and knocked him out. They sealed him in that sarcophagus until Samuel Hayden let him out There is a LOT more too it but that's the short version

That’s what a good player is doing. You’re going to have to come to terms with the fact that you can and probably will lose a LOT of health very quickly regardless of your skill. Only if you have a cheat enabled will you be completely undamaged...That is one of the best parts of this game well most of the time dying seems like it’s your fault there are times where the simple sheer amount of stuff Present in the environment will kill you in and of itself. A lot of people may think this seems like bullshit, Those people are new here. this is how we like this game because when we do pull it off it shows the world what the doom slayer really is. Actually: The cassic Doom games ARE canon to DOOM 2016 & DOOM Eternal, they take place MANY years after the 3 classic DOOM games (Doom; DOOM 2 & DOOM 64). Even the released version of DOOM 64 has a different ending text to make sure that it can line up too the reboot's continuity. ^^
