i just cannot fathom why they chose to use some program that takes hours to render 10 seconds instead of just using any engine that could render something 200x more detailed in real time its not like it in 1990 right? the credits said 2017, and if its a 'stylistic choice' they could still make the game look like that in another engine, is it some kind of message thing? that taking a really long time makes it more valuable? some kind of extreme compression so it's playable on a calculator?

Paul Borland, the creator of the first game (Dungeoneer) apparently passed away in January of this year. From the very limited information out there, he was a fusion veteran of 20 years and he loved creating things. I just thought it important to share this information with everyone out of respect. It's just a real shame that he didn't get to see Mark play his game. RIP

Okay, Dungoneer is Slow as hell, but you gotta respect their dedication to rendering out a cutscene for *EVERY* movement the player can take. Yeah, that one was totally a passion project. Also that first puzzle probably meant you had to take off either your sword or shield to pass the gate without getting hurt. Honestly mad-props to Knight Trek for giving all their effort into Dungeoneer. The Giant Skeleton Hand set-piece was actually an amazing design.

But it definitely needed the game to be sped up, need some polish, maybe some background music and less trying to tell the story with giant walls of text. But at the end of the day I will take an inexperienced dev actually trying over a lazy cash grab any day

You can set the category to "None" and I've heard people say that if you set it to "None" then KZbin will try to auto-generate the tag based on key words and other factors on the video to a game that closely matches in their database. Sometimes, even if you set it to the correct game, some people encountered a problem where KZbin will change it to another game in order to "fix" it. Like if someone plays a lesser-known block game, KZbin might mistake it for Minecraft. Although I think this has been fixed. edit: the autocorrecting problem is still there and has not been fixed.
