Love your vids from previous years so stoked to see you did a 2024 trip. Did you do this one during winter or was it filmed more recently?
@Sail2spearАй бұрын
Finished this trip only a couple of months ago and straight into editing , did the trip in our spring It’s great to see people enjoying the videos and being able to share them , thanks for the support and following the journey

Great video, as always! I really look forward to all of your updates. But duuuuude, I was dismayed - nay, devastated - by the absence of the dad joke referencing some oddly-named brand of beer. Please rectify that in future videos.
@Sail2spearАй бұрын
Ha ha after this series of videos considering it done ✅ with beer dad jokes coming your way

Great video as always 👍 question: why do you prefer the single and not the tandem to carry more gear? Thanks!
@Sail2spearАй бұрын
Great question , a couple of reasons but the main reason is AI is easier to handle myself getting it up and down the beach on solo trips Also love the challenge of minimal gear and supplies which forces me to really knuckle down on what I take with me In saying that I have been considering a TI in the future which would allow extra water for longer extended trips , would just have to save some more $$$ for the upgrade though Thanks for the question , do you sail the TI or AI?
@GreggOwens25Ай бұрын
@ nice, thanks for the info. I've got the TI to take my family out on and getting it ready for some solo adventures in WA 👍

I forgot where’s the still and the mead ?
@Sail2spearАй бұрын
Ha ha left the mead home this trip in the safety of my cupboards , thought I’d try something new on the trip Didn’t take the stil this year as wanted to reduce my gear and didn’t use it enough last trip to justify it
@user-qh7nt6su4kАй бұрын
is it possible to join the trip next year ?
@Sail2spearАй бұрын
Unfortunately next I won’t be doing another island to island trip as I’m packing up the hobie and taking it with me to do a 1 year lap around australia
@suedopod80425 күн бұрын
Just curious…do you have / ever run the spinnaker? Or is it too much to manage singled handed?
@Sail2spear21 күн бұрын
@@suedopod804 I’ve never tried it to be honest , I’m sure they would work well in the right applications , prob not suitable with a fully weighted kayak as the nose would prob dig in further so reluctant Def want to try one though Do you use one ?
@suedopod80421 күн бұрын
@ I haven’t either. But looking at the rig to get around faster in lighter air around here.

"Over and Out" on channel 9 of the handheld VHF, wtf?
@Sail2spearАй бұрын
@@marktaylor484 what’s wrong with that ?
@marktaylor484Ай бұрын
@markjvairy I would suggest you do a RYA VHF course and you can answer your own questions...
